- Rididng Fantasy -- Chelsey, 08:42:30 05/10/03 Sat
I trotted Fantasy to the show jumping field and cantered when we got there, I lead her to the first 4 foot jump and I got in the half seat position when she flew over it. Then we cantered to the next 5 foot jump and flew over it, then to the next 5.5 jump and flew over that one. Then we cantered to the 6 foot jump and went over it only knocking a bar down. So I turned Fantasy to do the course again and she didn't knock one bar down, then we went to the next 6 foot jumps and knocked two poles down out of the 6 jumps. Then I walked her back to the start of the course and cantered through the entire course again I felt like we were flying when we went over each jump. Then we galloped around the field and I walked her around the course looking to see if anyone wanted to ride with me.

I kicked Feather into gallop. I was a little unhappy I was riding alone, but I was used to it. I had been basically alone at Golden Meadows, and Celine was going bersek, so I was used to being sad, or unhappy. I then slowed Feather to a trot, and went bushwacking.

- Riding Jackel -- River, 17:00:50 05/09/03 Fri
For the first time in 2 days, River was going to ride Jackle, her briliant stallion that almost semed to glow. He was the sweetest horse, and one of the easiest to ride! She mounted and enjoyed herself on an old favorite, a long trail. She was in love with the fragrance of summer flowers and cool brezzes( and her horse{of course}). She never wanted to return, she wanted to stay on him forever, but she would never see her other horses either! She decided to come back at sunset, and feed her horses and water them too.

- Riding Teddy and Poetry! -- Ama, 05:53:12 05/08/03 Thu
Ama looked around the arena with po in hand. She mounted and did the regular hacking and even a little extended trot. Fiona was right, she did have hidden talent. Ama jumped a few smaller jumps which po seemed to enjoy and did some more cantering. She dimounted after an hour and let her walk around on her own abit before eading up to the barn.....
A while later she came in with Teddy. She again mounted and did the regular hacking like she had done earlier. Ama took him over some 3-4ft and walked out of the arena to the open field, rain pouring down on them. She gave him the que and he was off. Ama could almost hear the screams of the crowd. This is what Teddy was made for, after passing the finish line (Or leaping between two trees.) screams deafend their ears screaming Catch Me If You Can! The man in his sparkling clead tuxido handed them the trophy. Ama came back to life as a large raindrop hit her nose. Teddy seemed to be in the same world she was. She gave him a little squeeze and he came back too. The rode back into the arena and up to the stable, dreams of plenty in there heads.

- First Ride -- River, 19:27:12 05/07/03 Wed
River walked out to the stable, the morning breze blowing her hair back. She mounted on her horse, StarGirl, and practiced her western riding, the only riding she enjoyed. Then she rode on a trail and got lost in the day. She came back right before sunset and thoght " im a country girl from Montanna, what am i doing out here?". She watched the sunset and went to bed knowing, she was a real cowgirl.

- Riding Teddy -- Ama, 16:56:25 05/07/03 Wed
Ama walked into the arena. She looked over the jumps. Yep, there were a few 3 and 4ft and some small ones too, perfect. She mounted Teddy who with a little squeeze started off. She pulled him down to the walk after letting him run his own pace a lap. After she could tell he was getting tired of this she pulled him into a posting trot. She loved poetry's trot but she seemed more accostomed to Teddy. She let the eager stallion into a canter. She needed to enter him in a race. Ama could feel him tearing on in his regular fast pace. She didnt slow him down. After quite a few laps she walked him around before flying above some smaller jumps. Suddnely he halted, she looked down at him. This was rather wierd for Teddy. Ama restarted the canter and went down to a trot. She let him walk some more before starting a canter again and going over some 3-4ft. Ama dismounted after about 2 hours and set off to the barn. Teddy who seemed content showed no signs of tiredness even though sweat covered his front. He started scratching his head on her back making her laugh. He was the perfect horse for her. She might have to bring poetry to him. They would make a good foal. They seemed to have all the things the other needed. Ama mounted again and trotted up the path.

- Riding Poetry -- Ama, 15:53:55 05/06/03 Tue
Ama gladly walked into the arena and mounted. It felt so good to be back on a horse. She gently squeezed Poetry's side as she started walking around the arena for a warm up. After a few minutes the started at a trot. Posting felt much different than on her horse Teddy/Catch Me If You Can. She took her over a few x's and poles loving her new found freedom. She found the canter very enjoyable and smooth. Though she couldnt wait to get back on some big jumps. She did some catering then went back down to an extended trot. When Poetry in Motion refused to start cantering again she gave her a little kick and did only one lap around the arena for she could tell Poetry was really tired. She dismounted after several laps of walking and walked off to the stable.

Meg takes out her most prized and loved race horse, funny Cide. He had recently just won the Kentucky Derby. She tacked him up with brand new racing tack and let him canter around the arena for a warm up. After about 2 minutes of straight cantering she slowed him down and walked to the straight away. She shortened her stirrups, crouching in the saddle and gently squeezed him, he immediately set off at a gallop...

- Jumping practice -- Fiona, 02:21:15 05/02/03 Fri
Fiona set up a course of jumps in the field at about 3 foot high to begin with, but one was just a X pole. Firstly she brought out Jungle Bloom. Bloom had not been jumping long, but was a natural just like her father. Once warmed up Fiona jumped her over the cross pole, then did a few of the harder jumps. She then took Bloom over the course which she jumped easily.
Next she brought out Russian roulette. Fiona warmed her up then jumped over the X pole and a few of the fences. She then got off and raised the fences to nearly 4 foot. She sprung up into the saddle and Jumped Russian roulette over the fences. Roulette tipped off a pole on a wide spread. Fiona got off, but it back on, next time they jumped it perfectly!

- Ryan riding -- Ryan, 02:40:06 04/24/03 Thu
Ryan took Carnival king from his stable. He was already tacked up. Ryan mounted and rode him into the outdoor school. He let the young stallion stretch in his walk and lower his head. He then gathered him into the bit. After a few cicles he asked for trot. The coloured horse sprung out into a fast and powerful trot. He was very enthusiastic. Ryan slowed him down, but maintained impulsion. They did a few circuits and circles on both reins in trot. In the corner he asked King to canter. The horse snorted, and threw up his head, straining against the bit. Ryan circled him, trying to balance and steady the horse. King's canter really needed some work! Not as quick as Spider had been, he knew it would take alot of work and patience to get thim to as high a level as Spider! Ryan brought him back to trot and collected it. He put him at a small upright in the middle of the school. King bounced over from a trot, finding it very easy. 'there is definately talent there, it just needs to come out.' thought Ryan and he asked for walk and cooled his mount off.

Poetry had just been weaned from her second foal. Fiona decided it was time to get her fit again. She tacked up the grey mare and took her for a long walk along the tracks and country lanes. She was kinda sweaty afterwards, but Fiona Put a cooling rug on her and put her in her stable with a drink and hay. She took out Russian Roulette (Rouge) and tacked up the bay mare. Fiona also put her jumping boots on. Rouge was lazy in the school and needed a schooling whip and lots of leg to get her going forwards properly. Once they were warmed in Fiona put her over a cross pole. She gradually heightened it to about 3 foot. The mare jumped them nicely. Fiona then cantered her along the track to the cross country course and jumped her over some hedges, ditches and timber. She was very good.

I put Gem away then got Buddy ready. He was much better than Gem and I plucked up the courage to jump him. He jumped so high I fell and felt really bad! I made sure he was okay and rubbed my numb butt till it felt better. Then I got back in the saddle and jumped again. He hesitated a little then decided I'd stay on and flew! WOW! I can't wait to go around the jumps course on him!

- Riding youngsters -- Ryan, 00:00:33 04/03/03 Thu
Ryan brought in Carnival king from the field. He groomed him, picked out his feet and tacked him up. He didn't have his own saddlery yet, so he used Superlative's which fitted quite well. Ryan sprung onto Kings back, took up the reins and asked him for walk. They walked out of the gate and down the drive onto the country lane at the bottom. He kept the young horse on the verge as cars passed by. When they had walked for about 20 mins he clicked and squeezed with his legs. "Trot on boy" King sprung into action. He had a long raking stride and held his head well as they went along. Ryan slowed him at a juntion, turned left and trotted along the road for a mile. They then took a left turn onto a grass track. Here Ryan let him canter steadily. The track went through the woods, and there was a fallen log in their path. Ryan put him at it and king sprung over easily. They took a left turn in the woods which brought them out at red bracken's cross country course. Ryan popped him over a little tyre fence then walked him home. King was sweaty so he put on a coller sheet and settled him in his stable.
He collected Jungle dancer from hers. Dancer whickered at him and he patted her liver chestnut neck. He tied her up outside and went to fetch her brushes and tack. he brushed her over, tacked up and mounted. Ryan took her in the outdoor school and practiced trotting and walking correctly. Dancer was coming on nicely. He finished after 20 ins and led her back in to her stable. he untacked and brushed her over, picking out her feet. Ryan put away the tack and brushes.

She sent him on with a lunge whip and Super cantered on, popped over the little fences. Fiona gradually increased the height untill eventually it was 5 foot high. Super still soared over. It did him good to loose jump. It give him to courage to figure jumps out on his own. Fiona turned him back out in the field and brought in Sunny skies. She had changed her bit into a pelham, and she was going much better in this stronger bit. Fiona did some dressage with her, doing circles and loops in trot and walk. When she had finished with Sky she turned her out as well and tacked up Russian roulette and took her for a ride. She was out about an hour trotting down country lanes, fittening Roulette up. Fiona was tired when she returen. She went to the house for a nap...

After riding Dreamy the girl takes off all the tack brushes her horse then brings her out to the washrack to sponge Dreamy off. While she sponges down Dreamy's legs the horse dances around because of her sensitive skin. Next the girl uses the sweatscraper and dries the horses' legs with a towel. She then walks Dreamy on a loose lead back to a set of x-ties and throws a blanket over her from her door. She then mucks out the stall Dreamy's been staying in. She puts Dreamy back in her stall and gives her a pepermint flavored bran mash for lunch.

Faziah slid the saddle over the light saddle pad on Moon's bright chesnut back. "Easy girl." Her tone was calming and the mare briefly stopped fidgeting. "Ok, we're ready." She led the mare into the yard, and with a fluid movement was on her back. Moon being full of energy from a few days off bounced and danced beneath her rider. "Woah." Faziah applied gentle pressure to the thourabred's sides to get her to move out, Moon had other ideas. She bunched her muscles lifting herself skyward, Faziah seemed to be apart of the fiery chesnut as she rose gracefully with the mare. "Now what have I told you about that?" Faziah's tone was gentle yet there was an underlying edge to it. Moon shifted her weight to go back down, but at the precise moment Faziah moved her weight backwards, keeping the mare on her legs, this went back and forth a couple of times till Moon trembled as though she was going to fall, then Faziah let her land. "You'll have to learn that's not a habit I'll allow you to have, love." She again applied gentle pressure urging the mare to go out, and this time she did so willingly, though there was still a dance to her step. (ooc anyone wanna join her?)

Another day. I rode Celine and Feather. I'm letting my other horses Rome and Sugar settle in. I mucked out all the stalls and feed my horses. Sugar was very interested with EVERYTHING I did. Rome was different. Playful, but in a pushy sort of way.
Can't wait until tomorrow.

- Trying new horse -- Fiona and Sunny skies, 01:04:44 02/25/03 Tue
Fiona mounted the leggy chestnut and steadied her as she champed at the bit, walking on before Fiona had even sat down on her back. "Wooah, you'd better get out of that habit girl!" She took her to the outside grass jumping arena. The chestnut mare lived up to reputation and jogged and pranced, tossing her head when she saw the jumps. "How could 2 mares be so different?" Said Fiona aloud as she asked for trot a go a buck, a shuffle into canter and got pulled onto her neck. Fiona sat up and encouraged her back to a trot. It was very fast and powerful. There was no kidding this horse was an ex race horse, she wanted to GO!
Fiona circled her, trying to balance and steady the mare. Sky relaxed after 10 minutes of monotonous circling. Fiona turned her at a trot to the cross pole. Sky threw up her head and sped towards it. Fiona leant back and tugeed but she appeared not to feel it. Ignoring her aids sky careered around the field, jumped the upright, then the spread and then turned for home. The only problem was the 5 foot post and rail seperating them from the yard. Clinging on to Sky's neck she felt her riseand soar over the fence. Finaly in the yard she stopped. Fiona realised that the mare's best talent was speed and jumping ability, great for cross country but she would have to get a stronger bit to have any control at all.

- Jumping -- Sasha, 05:47:39 02/21/03 Fri
Sasha led the big chestnut mare all tacked up, out of her stable. The hanoverian pricked her ears and look around. Sasha mounted from the mounting block and walked her to the showjumping paddock. Sasha warmed Autumn Whisper up a little before asking her to jump. She got the mare, collected beneath her and in a nice outline, she did a few circuits on both reins in trot and in canter then turned down to a low straight. Sasha kept the mare in rhythm as they approached, Sasha counted the mares strides in her head, one, two, thr-, the mare sailed over the jump, cutting out a stride, she jumped two flat and knocked the pole down. Sasha cricled her round and headed for a differnt jump this time the mare was balanced and soared over the jump. Sasha went into jumping postition and gave the mare her head as she flew over the fence.

- Learning to juump -- Ryan and Jungle dancer, 07:58:44 02/20/03 Thu
At 3 and a half Jungle dancer was enthusiatic and quick to learn. She had grasped all of the basic start, stop, go faster and go backwards and was finding things very easy. In fact she was bored. Ryan realised this as she pranced sideways across the school, pulling him forwards. Not wanting to encourage bad habits he deiced she was ready to learn to jump. In the outdoor school were 3 trotting poles set up and a tiny X pole. They had been trotting around for a while when he turned her towards the coloured poles on the floor. Dancer ground to a halt at th first one, stood and looked at them. Ryan laughed. "What are they sweetie? They are in your way aren't they? You gotta go over them. Ryan walked her on, Dancer lifted her legs very high over these scary things, not wanting to touch them. Ryan couldn't help but laugh as she repeated the performance the second time. he asked for trot, then aimed her at the ground poles. Dancer trotted over them like a hackney, snorting after each one. After a few goes she realised they really were OK and was quite content to trot over them like they weren't there.
This time after the poles she was put at the cross pole, low enough to trot over it, that is what she did. It wasn't quite what Ryan wanted but she hadn't been scared. he'd call it a day now.

- Trying out new horses -- Fiona, 07:50:54 02/20/03 Thu
Fiona tacked up one of her new mares- Russian Roulette. She was fairly experianced, but had not won any points. She led the bay mare to the mounting block and bounced into the saddle, landing lightly. The saddle didn't fit too well, it was Superlatives, who was a little finer. She would need a new one for her. She gathered the reins, tightened the girth and corrected the lenght of her stirrups. "All sorted. Walk on Roulette *click*" The bay mare pricked her ears and walked forwards with a long swaying stride. Fiona walked her to the grass jumping field. There were a couple of fences set up already. After a few circles Fiona asked for trot. The mare appeared lazy and swished her tail, trotting only slowly with little impulsion. This was strange for Fiona. She was used to speedy and responsive horses. However the mare was quite supple and well behaved. Though Fiona after a few turned and changes of rein. On the corner she squeezed for canter. Roulette grunted and trotted faster. Fiona made a mentel note to take a whip next time. She booted the mare, clicking her tongue and gained a sluggish canter as a response. On the corner she fell back into trot. Fiona was not particulaly patient, and was getting angry. She trotted over to the trees and broke off a switch to use. Asking for canter she swiped her quarters. Roulette flattened her ears and sprung into a loose canter. Fiona steered her towards a 3 foot upright of planks. Suddenly Russian Roulette's ears pricked forwards, her strides lenghtened and her speed quickened. She bounded over the fence, continuing in a fast canter. "This is more like it" Shouted Fiona, patting her neck and turning her for the spread. Roulette sailed over it. "good girl."

- Riding Jungle Dancer -- Fiona and Ryan, 04:54:39 02/14/03 Fri
Fiona poped her head over the stable door. "Hiya Ryan, you all ready?" She asked. Ryan looked up from fastening the girth. yep she's ready. He walked over and kissed her on the lips. Fiona broke apart and smiled. "Come on..." She entered the stable and patted Dancer's liver chestnut neck. "Good girl, something fun is going to happen today." Dancer knew this and pricked her ears expectantly. tacked up, Ryan led her from the stable to the school. He walked her around for abit then brought her to a halt in the middle. Fiona, who had been watching at the gate came over, wearing a riding hat and clothing. Talking re-assuringly to the filly, Ryan hoisted Fiona up and leant Fiona's weight over her back to get her used to it. Dancer stepped forwards and hunched her back, but Ryan help her still. Once she settled Fiona swung her leg over and sat upright in the saddle, not moving. Dancer was getting used to the extra weight and mearly ficked her ears towards Fiona. They both praised the Filly and Ryan led her on. When Ryan said "walk on." Fiona used her legs to squeeze Dancer so that she would associate the two actions...

- Training for the show -- Fiona, 03:12:22 02/12/03 Wed
Fiona rides into a the srena on Poetry in motion, her irish sports horse mare. Poetry had been entered in the riding horse class and Fiona wanted to practice the show she would do. Fiona asked for a collected walk, The grey mare arched her long neck and rounded her body, shortening the strides of the walk. Poetry was better at collection than extension so Fiona thought this would be a good thing to do. After a few circles she asked for trot, just a working trot. Poetry's smooth gait glided them over the sand. Fiona did a 4 loop serpentine, which showed how flexible Poetry was. This changed the rein so she did a 20m circle in working trot in the new direction. Just as they were about to turn for the long side Fiona turned poetry's head towards the middle, her quarters still on the edge and moves her forwards and sideways at the same time, her outside legs crossing over her inside legs. Half pass! That would also impress the judges. She practiced it on both reins the asked for canter in the corner, collected canter, it was even slower than a trot it was so collected. Poetry bounced on the spot almost! To finish she brought her back down to walk and tried some demi pirouettes, turning the mare at walk on her haunches. Fiona thought they would do pretty well in the riding class...

Spider really was doing well. he had been winning competitions and had bred to quite a few mares in the last few years. Ryan was practicing some flat work woth him. he had gone from a weedy young stallion to an impressive stud. His body had muscled and deepened. His strides were longer and more elegant and his jumper was bigger too. What a wonderful horse he was! Ryan was glad he had decided not to sell him. Soon his young stock would be on the show circuit along side him. Ryan would enjoy that too...

Karry walked into Clouds stall and fixed her tack on the blue roan mare.
Cloud stared at her with big brown eyes and seemed to be asking: Karry, where is Thaia?
Karry felt bad.
But, she mounted and rode cloud out of the stable.
"Come on Cloud. Lets find Thaia!"
Cloud felt the dirt fly out behind her as her hooves beat the ground in beautiful harmony.
Karry dug her heels into Clouds sides and felt her slip into a wild but collected gallop.
They were riding in the woods by now and the tree's were thickening.
Cloud broke her stride as a squirrel darted out in front of her.
Karry slipped and fell.
Cloud had reared at the river, unsure of what to do.
Karry banged her head on a rock. Her eyes closed and she lost conciusnus.

Josh brought Dancer into the outdoor arena to work on some dressage. The horse imediately began acting up as soon as Josh asked for trot. The powerful stallion reared up high on his strong hind legs and swivelled around on the spot. Josh had taught him this but, he was supposed to do it on command not out of anger. The horse then pranced along, fighting at the bit all the way, side stepping down the track. Josh tried to turn the stallion round to a halt but it was difficult, he eventually got Dancer to stop but the horse then squealed and reared up again. Dancer had dayd like this and Josh was used to it, there was no changing his attitude, he was a great dressage horse - when he felt like it.

The pair trotted along, they went at quite a pace, although not hurried. The dun mare's ears pricked as her hard hooves rung over the tarmac of the road beneath them and her black mane and tail lifted with the wind she made. Well built young male rose up and down to her rythmical pace, keeping part of her in perfect timing. They turned off into a long grassy track. Human touched mare's sides with his long legs, too long for her really. The equine sprung forwards, straining out her neck and strong legs in a four time motion with a moment of suspension, the most exciting of all gaits, the gallop. Shane no longer could see, the world of trees and field became a blur and he hovered over her back in his stirrups, burrying his hands tight into the wild mane. They began to slow as the end of the track was nearing. Walk, the mare respired deeply as did the boy. Long swinging steps, but her head still high. In the main village now, people, cars and bikes past them, nothing spooking the weary horse as they walked for home...

Ryan was impressed, although she was stiffer and not as fit as she used to be it was the best flat ride he'd had. She was so responsive and powerful. He tried her extended trot and collected canter, and harder things such as a half pass, and demi pirouette from canter. Catherine went up to her stallion's field at Pine Acres and called Breeze's name. As usual he looked up at her then trotted off in the other direction. Catherine sighed and went into the big field. She walked all the way up to where her stallion stood grazing and called his name, this time he walked towards her. The big grey thoroughbred x arab lowered his head to her and breathed in her scent while she slipped the headcollar over his head.
Catherine led the excited stallion down t his stable in the stallion block and groomed then tacked up. She used the mounting block and mounted then walked down to one of the outdoor arenas. Breeze calmed down a bit when she was in the saddle and got ready to do some work. She had already set out a few simple fences to do some grid work and after warming up she worked on speedng up and slowing down on the approach to the jump and getting his stride right. Breeze worked well and Catherine finished on a good note. Catherine untacked the stallion and let him loose in the arena while she put the jumps away. The horse trotted round quite happily before she put his bridle back on to lead him up to the barn.

She walked her large thoroughbred gelding around the sand school letting him stretch. Then she asked him for a trot and circled him on both reins around the school, working him on the bit. She tried a little routine that she wanted to try in the working hunter and was pleased with him. He was working well. On the corner she squeezed for canter and cantered down the long side. On the bend she shortened him up and cantered a 20m circle, then she cantered serpentines, changing reins then cantered on the opposite rein. Nicely warmed up, Fiona decided to pop him over a few fences. She popped off and found some rustic poles, which she put up on jump wings to about 3 foot. She jumped back on and cantered around it before jumping it quickly over it. He was really good, so Fiona diecided to end on a good note. She walked him around on a long rein.

A girl of tall stature approaches the stall of the young and spirited Dreamy. She wears jodpurs, tall boots, and a pink areopastale shirt, and she has a regular black saddle and bridle resting on her hips. She then goes back to the tack room for her brushes, brushes Dreamy off considering when she came in she was covered with mud. With long and quick strokes she whipes the mud away 'till it's only the beautiful red dun coloring left. She puts the new white saddle pad and black saddle of an all-purpose on Dreamy's back. Dreamy swivvles her ears back to here the comforting words of her experienced handler. Next the girl puts on the new bridle of Dreamy's and with quick hands is ready to go with her helmet on. She leads Dreamy out to the arena and starts to mount and walks around the arena once then trts all sorts of patterns. she then does a light canter and puts her over a few of the small verticals then makes them higher and higher. Because Dreamy is a steeplechaser she sailed over these quite easily then throws a play ful buck which the girl sits to and moves on. They finish and the girl dismounts and cools her out then puts her 18hh figure back into the stall.

- JUMPING -- fiona, 02:02:19 09/20/02 Fri
Blonde female enters the jumping ring aboard a flashy chestnut thoroughbred. The horse arches his glossy neck, golden mane flying as she begins to work him in around the jumps. First, just walking, rider allows horse to streach his neck out and loosen his muscles, then gathering the reins she asks for a trot with her lower leg. Superlative sprngs into action, ears pricked towards each fence as he passes it, but well behanved enough not to drag her into it. She trots on both reins in small and large circles before asking for canter. Bouncy stride is contained by riders seat and upper thigh so that the horse is almost cantering on the spot. sensibly the pair approach a small X pole, popping it easily several times. Fiona halts her horse and patts him, whilst she studies her course. When ready, Fion asks for canter again and circles around the first fence, a simple upright about about 4 foot. He rushes a little bit and gets his stride wrong. Fiona circles him again and this time the pair jump it easily. 6 strides away is a wide oxer. Fiona asks Super to lenghten his stride and sets him in the middle of the fence. "easy peasy boy." She proclaimed whenover. A sharp turn is floowed by a narrow stile jump in blue then an upright plank fence with zig zags. Fion slowed him for accuracy with the stile and drove him boldly over the scary zig zags. The last was a triple combination. Green Upright followed by 2 green spreads. Fiona had to keep impulsion through the fence and make sure she met the 1st one right or else all would be knocked down. Pricking his ears, the chestnut gelding popped over each fence with ease. "Good lad." She panted to the horse, bringing him back to walk. "That was a good sessiohn"
