Sorry this is late today. Today is Black Friday in the US, When lots of folks go to the stores for special deals on Christmas presents.....

"Hush!" he said by reflex, not knowing whether he was talking to Denny or the tall soldier who had stepped out of the wood behind him.

"What the devil--" the soldier began, sounding startled. He didn't finish the question, but took three paces fast and grabbed Ian by the wrist.

"Who are you, and what are you---Good God, where did you come from?" William the soldier started into Ian's face, and Ian thanked God briefly for the fact that his other wrist was immobilized by Denny's chain, for otherwise William would be already dead. And he didn't want to have to tell Uncle Jamie that.


I love the relationship between William and Ian, something like two male dogs circling each other, then joining together to help one another. And Ian's thought that the only reason he would regret killing William is having to tell Jamie.....
