I keep wondering if Claire and the Comte aren’t related. I can’t remember where - it might’ve been this story, which I’m going to reread or listen to, that really made me think that. They are 2 sides of travelers, good and evil. A healer who understands life’s cycles vs one who wants to thwart them for himself?
