Good Evening, morning, afternoon, night, to all Lallybrochers, Whatever the time is where you are.

I seem to be aging. There're a few hints that that may be the case. First of all, my family tells me all the time that I'm an old lady (which I am not,..... I'd call them names, but I try to refrain from profanity here,) complaint that I'm deaf (there's a bit of truth there, I'll admit,) I'm confused (not true. I just don't bother being the sweet, mild mom I used to be. It was tiring,) and I have gotten less-nice. That one is very true. I was nice for my whole life, and it never served me well.I still ended up looking like a coat-rack at all times and holding whatever bag of shyte that had been slinging around. Nice is over-rated.

However, I keep forgetting I have learned , unsuccessfully, it seems, to step out of my old routines and be honest with my Truth. Well, my truth seems to be livng my life as a coatrack holding a sack of poop. I have tried to duck when the clothes start flying around and I run and duck when I see that sack filling up, but I'm a flippin' human ball of velcro. The worst part is , even now, with all my kids grown and thriving, I'm still outnumbered and usually out-maneuvered.

Someone asks me for my opinion and I give it. Mistake. Danger, Will Robinson. (I hope I'm not the only one who used to watch Lost in Space? Puleeeze tell me someone knows that quote.) David just shakes his head and says, "It's been thirty nine years now. You should KNOW that's not going to end well." sigh.

My kids call me old (not true.) One is not old until one starts wearing one's underwear OVER their clothes. Not on purpose.

My kids call me old (not true) because I forget the stories I have already told them and tell them over again. That part is true. If I blather on about something I've already written, just skip it and don't tell my kids.

I have to admit this was the second Open Book and Point thing for today. First one was like reading the Begats in Sunday school in the 1950's.

"Oh." Lawrence sounded faintly disappointed. 'I suppose Mrs Fraser is asleep, then?"

"Laugh, and I'll throttle ye," Jamie whispered in my ear. "She is, Mr. Stern," he called through the door. "I shall give her your respects in the morning, aye?"

"I trust that she will rest well. There seems to be a certain roughness to the sea this evening,"

[> I know we’re close in age, Betsy, and I feel your pain. I’m going through some awful shite right now and it is hard to change engrained patterns. On a happier note - it’s always so good to come here and spend time with like minded friends 😊. Rough seas indeed, J & C could tell him a thing or two about that! -- Kathy in PA, Mon, February 28 2022, 6:53:53

[> Ha! Mr. Stern, if you think the seas are rough, it's probably from Jamie & Claire rocking & rolling! Turtle Soup is the BEST chapter ever written. Also BBS, I remember "Danger, Will Robinson." The DH & I STILL use that phrase. -- DianaH, Mon, February 28 2022, 12:14:33

[> [> Turtle soup is indeed a favorite chapter. There was a lot more of that particular scene, but it was too long to use. I knew everyone would what this was immediately -- Betsy BBS, Mon, February 28 2022, 20:17:19

[> [> Me too!! But only because a friend got channel 22. We only got 16 and 28 and thought it was a huge deal when PBS debuted. Although their original stuff was pretty boring. And now I fall asleep going through the guide deciding what to watch. Lol -- Kathy in PA, Tue, March 01 2022, 5:39:17

[> I, too, watched Lost in Space and remember "Danger Will Robinson" well. In a cartoon in this morning's paper one of the characters said, "How old would you feel if you didn't know how old you were." (Quote by Satchel Paige). It seems appropriate here!Today I feel like I'm 75. Some days I feel like i"m 40....always remember that age is just a number, and time is a human construct. -- Janet, Mon, February 28 2022, 12:42:21
