Though i agree with what you say to some extent, i must say that you stated the obvious in your views on 9/11. First of all, any person who is elected into office (even more so as the president) will surely want to be elected again. Bush saw 9/11 as an opportunity to be re-elected, and though you may disagree with his hasty, conservative, decision, he definitely set himself up for another 4 years. Maybe another, more liberal, president would wait and see what happens, but Bush understood that the majority of the people in America wanted swift action, and thats what he gave them...thus his popularity sky-rocketed and he continues to gain more support for himself. I recently was witness to an add in a magazine that compared bush to our first president washington, saying that washington stated the grounds for freedom, and bush was put here to defend that freedom. From this im sure anyone can deduce that bush has become a popular president on the rise. In response to your "shoot first, ask questions later" segment, Johnson did not start the confilct in 'nam it was the "liberal's favorite" Kennedy who started the whole thing. And if i remember my history accurately we were shot at first in the vietnam conflict by your communist brothers to the far-east the vietcong, and their lovely supplier's the USSR.
