I haven't seen any of the movies you mentioned.

I do plan on seeing Harry Potter though with my son. I think its kinda odd that they are going to make 7 of them. I think it would gte old to say the least, not to mention the kid will be in their 20's. I personally liked the 1st one better. I like the story telling, like you see in Lord of the Rings the Fellowship of the Ring. I thought Ron was a cute red-headed kid, till I saw him in the 2nd one.....is it me? Or is he getting not so cute? As far as Emma Watson...well, let us just say..she is growing up...and I like the cast better as children. I don't want to see some adults in their 20's riding around on broomsticks.

The only movie I have seen out is Troy. Entertaining....but once again Hollywood has messed up history or in this case, possable history written by Homer. I read the "Illiad" when I was in 8th grade and fell in love with it. I even own 3 copies of the book (all from differant translators).
Back to the movie..where the hell are the rest of the great warriors? Diomedes ;-D, Odysseus? There are soo many. No mention of them.I felt they over-used Achil'leus (Achilles).
They made him the only real hero of the Greeks. Then ya have Paris and Helen..blahh blahhh. They also made it (seemed to me) that the Greeks were just blood thirsty and the Trojans were these peaceful people. By no means am I saying the movie is nothing like the book, or they didn't hold to Homer's tradition. I think if they had a little more detail in the other characters..it would have been better. This battle lasted 10 years..they made it seem like a month or two. Eric Bana who played Hector, I thought did the best job (my opinion).
I just don't like it when they screw up history for the sake of making a Hollywood film. Some of the movies they messed up history:
Troy
Braveheart
Gladiator
Just a few old style war movies they messed up on.
I must also say, Diane Kruger who played Helen..was hot!
I could talk about movies all day.
Jason
P.S. If your interested in reading the "Illiad" and the "Odyssey"..I suggest picking up a translation from my favorite, Richmond Lattimore. If you prefer older English, I would go with S.H. Butcher & Andrew Lang translation.
