In the cave Alexis moved closer to Jeff in search of warmth. Just outside Monet studied the scent of the strange new cat but decided to allow Angie to handle the cat on her own.

Brandon moved slowly down the path, calmly amused at the girls sudden rush to get him away from the cave. He was not one to be rushed, or commanded. In fact, he was rather pleased at the reaction he was getting.

"Oh, I know you Angelina. I know you rather well." He stopped once inside their safely hidden grove and smiled the smile of a patient parent. He slid smoothly into Angie's native tongue, "Or would you rather I call you Isti-ban? Because I could if you like."

Carefully he drew patterns in the dirt before her. A ragged girl kneeling before a great window. "Does she cry Isti-ban, is she sad?"

He glanced back toward the cave and smiled coolly. "You will not keep me away from your... 'Friends', you know my kind well enough." Purple eyes turned to meet her widened gaze. "Nor will you keep me to the shadows as the pale white girl hides her tiger-lir. No no... I will be joining you and your misfit little rag tag band. And you, Isti-ban, will do nothing to stop me, will you?"

He twitched a cocky tail and turn to smile into her eyes. "I know many things Angie. Not just of you. I know of the other girl. She is at risk with every step you take."

At Angie's surprised look he chuckled, "Do you forget that she is a white tiger? Oh they are rare and much sought after. She has enemies she knows NOTHING about."

He stretched out so as not to tower over the girl. "And then there is the boy. Already he dies and yet... He does not know it." A strange look crossed his face and then was gone. "No, he is his own worst enemy. For to deny yourself is to bring about your own end. But my dear Isti-ban knows that already. But does the boy know, with out his other half, he cannot defend himself? SHE cannot defend him! She grows ever weaker! What do you think brought ME here?"

"Face it kid... You might not like it... You might not like ME... But you need me... And I am staying."
