Angie stood swiftly, so quickly that her movement was a blur, and fixed a fierce glare upon the newcomer. She was dimly aware of the tiger-lir's watchful gaze, and felt a rush of simultaneous gratefulness and resentment.

(doesn't he think i can handle this on my own i)
"Look, shadow-walker," she said in a voice quiet but firm, and folded her arms. Standing upright, she was about as tall as the sitting Silent Paw and looked him straight in the eyes. "I don't care to talk to you, but I will if you'll get your fuzzy blue butt out of sight of yon cave. You mustn't be seen, you hear?" She glanced around quickly.
::I'll get him away. Watch them,:: she told Monet in a commanding tone.
"Come on, come on!" Impatient, the girl scrambled over the rocks quiet as a breath, heading a small way up the path and well out of sight of the cave. She then turned to him with an air of calm superiority. "What on earth do you think you're doing, sneaking up like that? How did you find us? How do you know my name? What makes you think we have any enemies?" Her eyes blazed as she glared at the Silent Paw.
In the darkness of the cave, Gwenneth twitched an ear, but did not wake.
