Gwenneveire stumbled, and tried to rise on shaky legs. ::I will try, friend lir, but I fear I cannot move very quickly. I am sorry to have so inconvenienced you. But come! We must not allow the boy to retreat. It is now or never, for him.:: Leaning heavily upon the large tiger, her cheek pressed against his thick, golden fur, Gwenneth began a slow, hobbling trot, trying to block out the pain that rocketed through her in small explosions.

Her voice sounded to him like the ringing of hundreds of tiny bells, like the music of a bubbling spring. "Geez," Jeff mumbled, kneeling a few feet from her and trying not to blush. "Sure, I'll help you. ...But you don't live in the city, do you? Least, I don't see you in school, or at the market..." he glanced up at her, and looked away quickly from her kind, pale blue gaze. "My name is Jeffery-- it's nice to meet you, miss." He held out his hand and she took it, and he thought that her hand was as soft as silk, smooth as the petals of a flower. He withdrew then, lowering his head to hide his blush. "We should get going; the afternoon wears on. Can you stand, miss?"
