Hi Connie! Happy New Year to you and everyone on this board. I just wanted to stop by and say hello. I haven't seen you around lately. Are you planning on attending anything in the works for 2005? Hope to see you soon. Have a safe and Happy (and prosperous) New Year!

I just received Ian's "Goin' Crazy" LP through the mail and I've heard most of the songs on it before but there are a few that are new to me. WTF? I love it! Plenty of humor and nuttiness. But ~ please ~ help me out here......who the hell is singing "ABCD I Love Me" "Goin' Crazy" and "Girls" ??? Okay it sounds like Ian on "Girls" but what about those other two? The LP is written mostly in Japanese so that's not helping me any. What a trip!!!

Two of my daughters had to do a project on a different country or state this year and they had to bid on which country/state they wanted. Guess which two my daughters got? Yep ~ Scotland and Ireland. Below is a photo that Brits teacher took ~ wish I'd gotten one of Car during the Ireland demo. Brit even made scones and tea and served it to the school. She even has a flyer of the Bay City Rollers displayed on the table. I just love my babies!

Hello Friends,

It has been some time since I last posted for which I apologize. Work and home have been keeping me very busy to the point that I can barely read my email. Recently my hours were cut back to 30 per week so I'm squeaking as much as I can from each penny.
Let me say belated Happy Birthdays and Merry Christmas to All. And an early Happy New Year as well.
Recently on one of my coveted days off (when my husband was at work and my son at school) I began to think about how we all came to be friends and close friends and best friends in some cases because of two completely different things. The first is the Internet. That strange little (sort of) box on our tables or desks. Through the simple use of electricity and metal and wires and silicone, which a few years ago was the size of a house just to calculate mathematical problems, we are now able to communicate with people ALL over the world. Better than we could with our own telephones. And more often. I have been "talking" to friends in Switzerland, Canada, Australia, California, Florida and many other states and countries.
We have all told each other about our days, our families, hopes and dreams (and other various things which I won't mention). We have asked for and received prayers and comfort from our online friends. We have also had our disagreements. We are, after all, different people with different opinions.
The other thing that brings *us* together is our affection for eight gentlemen by the names of Alan Longmuir, Derek Longmuir, Eric Faulkner, Leslie McKeown, Stuart "Woody" Wood, Ian Mitchell, Pat McGlynn and Duncan Faure. Collectively know as The Bay City Rollers or the Rollers.
"Back in the day" when we were in our teens did we ever really think that there were this many fans? Despite the pictures we saw of the throngs at the concerts could we ever have thought about just how many other girls had the same love for our favorite. Did we ever think "no one could love him more than I do"? How many of us said "I'm going to marry him"? How many tried everything we knew to meet them?
How do we thank these wonderful gentlemen for simply being alive and becoming famous? How would our lives have been different if they had not become famous? If they were just eight average guys in this world.
For me - well- I suppose it would have been a few more years before actually began to "bloom". I was a "late bloomer". Because I grew up in with five older brothers and the boys at school were always picking on me, I had trouble thinking of boys as cute or even likable. When I first saw Derek's face my heart started to beat so hard I thought it would explode. He became my only thought and my first love. (I have had other thoughts since then)
To hold them in closely in our hearts with all the affection of our youth to me is the greatest tribute we can give, but it just does not seem to be enough for all they have indirectly done for each and every one of us. For now let us wish them peace, love and joy for the coming year and let us be happy for having had them in our lives.

Thank you for allowing me to rant here. I now return you to you to your normally scheduled life - already in progress.

MK

Just read my thingy bob for today - is that what happened to me today? Daydreaming?? Me? Why I never....missed a day of it that is.....

Monday, December 27, 2004
Yesterday | TODAY | Tomorrow
Connie Flores,
Even if you must pay attention to the workweek ahead, you're still dreaming about all the lovely things that you'd like to do. Your mind isn't on your job. Maybe, due to the holidays, you're taking some time off from your regular chores. If not, go ahead and give yourself the luxury of daydreaming, but don't succumb to your indulgent desires just yet. If you take care of business first, you'll be more able to experience the guilt-free pleasures later in the week.

Take care of business first and then enjoy the pleasures? OOHHH yeah ~ does sound like me. Pleasure ~ I simply enjoy the pleasure of saying that word ~ ohhhhh give it to me now!

At work yesterday they were giving away a few pins to the lot of us that slave there and I actually won one! They only gave away a few. Pins such as "hardest worker" and "most helpful." This time they had a new one that we'd never been given before and it was given to me ~ it was for the "most fun to work with." So what are they trying to say? I'm not the hardest or most helpful worker???

THAT PICTURE, THAT FIRST PICTURE. I just accessed the board at work. I GASPED! I CHOKED, I *almost* fell out of my CHAIR as the breath left my body in a soft "WOW". My coworker entered my office just as I was having this reaction, curled his lip, laughed at me and said "I'm not even going to comment on that Sher". I *think* that's what he said. I am trying to restart my heart! Talk about making your NIPPLES HARD!! Holy FAULK! (*is* there a background on this page?!?)

Sorry I haven't been around much recently. I've been getting ready to take off for Rochester, NY for the 70's show starring Ian Mitchell and his Bay City Rollers this coming Sunday.

I've heard from several that are going to be there. Cherie and her hubby and Cathy (my dirty twin) whom both live in NY. Girls can't WAIT to see and meet you both! I heard from another girl from NY - Sherry - looking forward to meeting you and your hubby. All I can say Sherry is: If your hubby films us going crazy during the concert - I want a copy!

I'm heading out this Friday and will be back on Monday with pix to share. If it rains and they cancell I'll take pictures of...... my hotel wall - But damn it all - I WILL have pictures - of some sort......

Peace.....

http://www.list.co.uk/fiftybandsmain.html

AN EXCLUSIVE party will be held on January 12 in King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow to announce the ‘Best Scottish Band of all time’ following a three-month public vote by readers of The List and Scotland on Sunday. Before the winner is announced on the night, artists from the top 50 will exclusively perform some of their own material, and a series of Scottish covers to fit the occasion.

The List magazine published a guide to the ‘50 Best Scottish Bands of all Time’ in October, sponsored by Orange, and since then a text voting line has been open for the general public to vote for their favourite Scottish band.

Tickets for the party will only be available through Orange, The List, Radio 1 and Radio Scotland. Those keen to sample this unique music event should keep reading The List and Scotland on Sunday for more information in the New Year. Live material from the party will be broadcast by Vic Galloway on Radio 1 on January 13, from 7.30pm, and Radio Scotland on January 17, from 8pm.

In no particular order, the current frontrunners are: Idlewild; Big Country; Franz Ferdinand; Sensational Alex Harvey Band; Teenage Fanclub

The List’s top 50 suggestions are: Altered Images; Arab Strap; The Associates; Average White Band; Aztec Camera; Bay City Rollers; Belle & Sebastian; The Beta Band; Big Country; Bis; The Blue Nile; Boards of Canada; Bronski Beat; Cocteau Twins; Deacon Blue; The Delgados; Donovan; Eurythmics; The Exploited; The Fire Engines; Franz Ferdinand; Goodbye Mr McKenzie; Idlewild; The Incredible String Band; The Jesus And Mary Chain; Josef K; Lonnie Donegan; Love & Money; Lulu; John Martyn; Frankie Miller; Mogwai; Mull Historical Society; Nazareth; One Dove; Orange Juice; The Pastels; Primal Scream; The Proclaimers; The Sensational Alex Harvey Band; The Shamen; Simple Minds; Snow Patrol; Rod Stewart; Teenage Fanclub; Texas; Trashcan Sinatras; Travis; The Vaselines; Wet Wet Wet

1. Talk about a huge breast!

2. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist.

3. It's Cool Whip time!

4. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst!

5. Whew, that's one terrific spread!

6. I'm in the mood for a little dark meat.

7. Are you ready for seconds yet?

8. It's a little dry, do you still want to eat it?

9. Just wait your turn, you'll get some!

10. Don't play with your meat.

11. Just spread the legs open and stuff it in.

12. Do you think you'll be able to handle all these people at once?

13. I didn't expect everyone to come at once!

14. You still have a little bit on your chin.

15. How long will it take after you stick it in?

16. You'll know it's ready when it pops up.

17. Wow , I didn't think I could handle all of that!

18. That's the biggest one I've ever seen!

19. How long do I beat it before it's ready?

Also keep in mind that they're to celebrate great events in our history and were never intended to make us all spend so much money we start the new year broke. Course all the department stores etc. would beg to differ. LOL.

Keep the peace...

Here's a warning to all folks who are in a rush and eat in the car. Those that know me know that I work quite a few hours and that the hours vary. I have 5 beautiful kids and spend as much time as I can with them. I do housework, yardwork, shop, on and on and on. I have very little time to sit down to eat. So today was no different than any other day - I was on the RUN. After working a full day I jumped in the car and off to the store. I hadn't eaten anything all day and it was already after 6pm. There's a Hardees - YES! Hot ham and cheese - YUM! STOP - ORDER - SLING MONEY - RIP OPEN THE WRAPPER - CHOW!! I had eaten several bites and was so hungry I really wasn't tasting it. When quite suddenly I could hardly breathe - all I could think was WTF?? I looked down at my sandwich and I had actually eaten part of the wrapper which was somehow stuck in my throat. I looked at my other hand and quickly drew that hand up to my mouth and took as huge a drag off my cig as I could. THAT actually lodged it clear. I mean REALLY!! What kind of life saving technique was that?? What the hell was I thinking?

Loser with a capital L Your a loser with a capital L, you promise me heaven but put me thru hell, you strut around thinking that your shit don't stink, you call me names, put me down, and put our relationship on the brink. You say that you love me and turn on all the charm, but love doesn't hurt or cause the one you love harm, I tell you to get help, but my words fall on deaf ears, I have put up with this misery for far too many years. You killed the happy feeling that was once inside my heart, time has passed and it's too late and now we so do part. I wish for nothing bad for you and only time will tell, if you will ever change or stay a loser with a capital L. by faith l.

Those were the days weren't they? Remember our drummer Diana Pisacota? Maybe we should get our band back together. Been going through all my old boxes and came across a mess load of songs I wrote back in the 80's. Plenty were romantic - some were quite serious and this one was just plain silly.

You Just Can't Do It Anywhere

Your mama caught you trying to do it on the floor.
Your daddy kicked you right through the door.
Your teacher caught you hiding 'neath your desk.
She kicked your teeth and tore up your history test.

You took it all the way to the park and got run off
by a dog and his bark.
You tried hiding 'neath the aisles of the drug store.
But the clerk caught a glimpse of your rear and yelled,
"Don't you ever come back here."

Well, you just can't do it anywhere
There's gotta be somewhere...
man, you know it's there.
The folks who say your doing wrong...
don't really care.
They just tell you to get...
so the public will stay outta their hair.

So now your kneeling on your knees in a cornfield.
But the farmer comes slappin' at your arms and legs with cornsilk.
So you try the cemetary with the largest stone.
Hell, you better get goin' cause there's bricks bein' thrown.

Well now there's a place you haven't tried...
so you sneak behind the billboard sign to hide.
Then a motorcycle rips and slides between your thighs.
Bumps you into the river...ending your ride.

Well, you just can't do it anywhere
There's gotta be somewhere...
man, you know it's there.
The folks who say your doing wrong...
don't really care.
They just tell you to get...
so the public will stay outta their hair.

Ya know, I really can't understand...
your only human an you couldn't find a can.
Hell yeah you finally got to deliver...
by george you done it in the river.

PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Connie F

Okay - every show I go to - there's beer - or a beer stand - or some guy wearing a dick hat and selling beer (that was in New York.) Well, at the Davy show here in Indiana (good ole Indiana.) There was no beer - no beer stand - no guy wearing a dick hat and selling beer. But ohhhh says Carol "I've found BEER in Connie's trunk and it's in cooler - yum." I caught her and gave her the ole 'pinch on the ass' - note - my tongue is being bit in half in the course of glee over this action.

Recently got my photos developed from the Davy Jones show last September. They're not any better than I thought they'd be. Ya know since I love to take pix - I'm really going to have to invest in a 'real' camera. We were in the first row with over 2,000 people attending and these are the pix I got. BLAH! Yeah okay so he was WAAYYY up there and I craned my neck high just to see him but in person at the show - you could see him very well. These pix don't show that.

Peace,
Connie F
