I had the Beta 13.5 fitted to my Trapper 500 'Florence' the winter before last after a posting on this site prompted several recommendations for it. I kept the original shaft size but the new shaft is of a stronger steel. Had a 3 bladed prop fitted (the fitter called it a 'sailing prop') During 2 seasons use it's been great, feels like a new boat under engine. It has certainly extended our cruising range and crossing shipping lanes is less fraught. If you motor fast you have to steer with a firm grip to ensure the Trapper's 360 degree rudder and tiller doesn't get let loose. It could deliver a hefty blow.
