My Rudder blade broke in the same place - I guess they all do eventually. It was suggested I rang Jack Holt - they didn't make the blades but put me in touch with an Oz craftsman who made racing foils for them. I had tried a DIY plywood job but fount it vibrated horribly above 4 knots.

The Oz foil is brilliant and has done years of service now. The big advantage of going to a foil maker like that was the aerofoil section achieved. The max width is well forward wher the old one was pretty central the result is the rudder is much less inclined to stall when the boat is really pressed to windward. The maker did suggest he was going to bond in steel for stiffness but in the end it was laminated strip like Alan's.
