 My guess is you need to readjust your rigging so there is a definite backward rake to the mast. Only a degree or two makes a huge difference. If it is vertical it is wrong. Mine has quite a pronounced rake and is well balanced on all points. For weather helm the usual fix is as described by others - the proper setting for the blade is not obvious to the uninitiated.
