I posted a simmilar query last year when I wanted a replacement engine for my Trapper 500 'Florence'. The consensus then pointed towards a 13.5hp Beta engine. This was installed, with a 3 bladed prop, last winter and has been a complete success. It was well tested this season on a trip through the Dutch waterways from Ijmuiden to Flushing and showed its worth last w/e, driving the boat through f6 headwinds and large seas on our trip back to the Thames from the Blackwater. The engine is physically smaller than the Yanmar SE8 it replaced...I dont know how the engine space in a T28 compares.
