teak for a transome? WOW you rich or something?

seriously tho forget teak, in the size you want it will cost an arm and a leg ....IF you can get it

16mm ply is probly about right and as Nick said its all down to the glue, mind you there is some real crap coming from the far east that's sold as bs 1088 marine ply.... and isnt !

go for a good EXTERIOR GRADE ply from your builders merchants and then give it a good coat of epoxy resin particularly the edges
