Colum
Sorry about the double posts the forum was acting funny.
I'm not too bothered by petrol as anyone who has an outboard usually has petrol on it & it's fine as long as the system is built to the right specification and it is well looked after. Same as a gas cooking system I suppose. If you were choosing a new boat then yes I guess you wouldn't choose it unless you wanted a very light engine. A new dolphin & gearbox is coming in at about £1800 but you need to add on things like a new prop. I got quoted at about £2600 for the lot.
The decision has just been made for me though as I've just managed to pick up a refurbished Kubota 12hp marine diesel for half the cost so I'll be fitting that over the winter.
