theres a couple of things that seem to have been overlooked here.

1/ lead V iron. lead as nick says is more dense, so a lead keel would be shallower for the same weight. ergo the centre of gravity changes and the moment arm of the keel/cg reduces. so the righting moment is LESS..it needs X weight at Y distance from the cg to stay the same

2/ smaller keel =less wetted area= less drag = go faster
