Hi gerard ( I can't do clever accent things)

I've sailed over 5000 miles in Securus in all sorts of conditions and never had a concern about the rigging, even been knocked flat by a 70 knot squall.

as Brian says the proctor (or Selden) mast sections are quite heavy and the mast itself not particularly tall.

A lot of boats are fitted with a removable baby stay (inner forestay) for attaching a storm jib, I think because it was recommended in one of the main reviews at the time, but the strength of the foredeck anchorage for this would likely be a bit suspect in a real blow.
