Perhaps the problem is not your boat but more to do with those around you. Do you keep this in a marina near motorboats for instance?

With the limited electrical gear you have on board I'd have thought you had enough protection, but other local influence can cause problems I've heard.

You can get anodes you hang off the side of the boat when in the marina that are supposed to help with this.
