No Nick, IP is your Internet Protocol address - the computer's identity on the net and to a host - a number like 63.69.110.193. It's difficult to know how you are interacting with the VoyForums server, but as supervisor you are probably having to identify yourself. Normally this is done automatically and you would be allocated an IP address transparently by your server when you log on - I think.

Without knowing what application and even operating system you are using it is difficult to know where to begin, and I am anyway no PC expert. Perhaps we have a PC whizz reading the forum who may be able to better help.

On the other hand - you could try reading the manual. You do have a manual, don't you? ;-) Alternatively, isn't there a VoyForums support section you could e-mail? After all, there is no urgency, the system is up and running and we've lived with the situation long enough.

With reference to your comment about wanting more input than mine about whether to re-enable e-mail addresses - that is why I said to publicise an intention *unless* you get conflicting views. I think most people may not have an opinion either way and you shouldn't be holding your breath for responses.

Keep us informed about your progress and if you bring the forum to a grinding halt you always have my *real* e-mail address and we'll work something out.

Best, Brian.
