Hi All,
Please disregard above posting. further investigations today show that fixing point of ram at base of keel housing is in very poor condition. Carbon steel plate to which ram attachment bracket is fixed is very corroded and the bolts have slotted raising the lowest point of the ram.

This appears to be about the same amount of slotting as the keel retaining pin holes in the casing! ( Well it would be wouldnt it!)Doh!

The GRP is cracked in this area and without having stripped it out ( currently on drying mooring)it looks as if a cut out and replace is required.

As the plate to which the pivot bracket for rhe Ram is very corroded does anyone know the size and whether it is a flat plate or if it has aflange to floor? I will replace with 316 st steel once I know whats needed. Any thoughts on lay up with Epoxy/e glass to bond new plate in

A previous owner had the keel 'box' above the CI keel replaced in stainless and it looks like the ram and pump are relatively new though the outer sleeving on the flex pressure hose is breaking up. Oh well another job!

Paul
