Chris,
Only yesterday I scrubbed off Fleure de Leigh, my 300 ,up against my clubs dock wall on the Thames , just upstream from Tilbury. The tides were perfect, high 0630hrs, and we refloated at 1730hrs. First lay out some large fenders on the dock wall and moor up alongside. To make sure the yacht settles leaning on to the wall, add 20-30 metres of mooring rope to your main sheet and tie it off to something solid well back from the dock wall, and at the join hang something like a car tyre to act as a damper and to pull the top of the mast toward the hard. If your stretch of water is busy with Heavies, call up the harbour master who will request them to slow down. the last thing you need just as you settle, is some hefty wash bouncing your yacht up and down on the fin. Once the water has receded it is best to to wedge a piece of timber up under the P bracket to stop the boat settling back on the rudder if you need to go into cockpit for any reason. I got the hull power washed and scraped, re-anti fouled and a handfull of other jobs done before the tide had even turned. Just check Log is back in tight and stern gland is OK as she refloats. Its all veryeasy if you get organized. Good Luck John.
