Thanks everybody for an interesting thread. I too inherited a square black tank below the bunk - I recognised it as what we used to use for the waste water when we were caravanners and assumed sombody must have had plans to fit a waste tank rather than rely on the chuck it system.

I fixed a pump tap to the bulkead with a not very tidy plastic hose which feeds up from 10 litre plastic cans just behind the steps. This was mainly because I could not find a tap which would reach the sink from the nearest place I could fix it behing the galley track. Somebody had scored a position mark and gone no further before me. I never thought of the really simple solution of a short extension to the tap!!!
