Make sure the mast is upright athwartships and set your required mast rake, (at this point the rigging should be fairly slack).

Apply the maximum backstay tension you are likely to use, and tension the Cap Shrouds evenly so they are hand tight.

Tension the lowers evenly so they are one turn tighter than hand tight.

Thats it. When you let off the backstay you should now have the right amount of prebend, just check that the mast is still straight.

This is what I do - I got it from a North Sails U-Fast course.
