Brian

(No, my model is without the digital readout, which leads me to think it is a really early model, even supersceded when I got it (perhaps why Autohelm gave it to me) and that improvements to the correction algorithms may be worth getting a new unit for. Having been a software engineer myself a lifetime ago, I know the value of having the ability to apply firmware upgrades as these things are always being improved on. Perhaps if I return it they might be able to install a later version chip.)

I think a phone call to Autohelm would be in order in your place Id want to know why it took so long to correct! And its likely that a software/firmware upgrade is available by now

Sula does take a little while to correct herself sometimes but with the over/ under correction aspect taken care of its not a problem.

And the autohelm is a better helmsman under sail than I am, by far! the only thing that fazes it are big lumps of metal underneath us ....then it gets thoroughly confused for a bit .....like a complete 360 between Carentan and St Vaast!

John
