8lbs (3.6kg), that is totally unacceptable and I understand your concern. Clearly the propeller is the cause as it only manifests when under power and stops when you take it out of gear. However, are you sure the alignment is correct? A mis-aligned shaft by only a degree or two would seriously affect thrust direction. Note the recent posting with reference about the disintegrating P bracket on a 1979 T500, that might misalign a flexible shaft.
