I have a 500. hull number 319. All the "domestic" wiring is/was 1mm solid conductor copper, double pvc sheathed. I thought that I have a home completed boat with wiring by an incompetent.

This thread is now making me think that it may have been standard Anstey practice, with the cables stuck to the headlining with resin before the boat was assembled.

Apart from in the heads and the forepeak, I have been able to mouse through 1mm tinned cable 6amp rated capacity for all lighting, nav lights, and instrumentation needs. Best mouse?

Vandalise a tape measure.

Te only source I could find for tinned copper cable was Farnell. Can be found on the web.

I intend to have a further try on the heads/forepeak next week. Otherwise it will be AA battery lights in those places.
