Spiritual matters cannot be verified by means of the "objective proof" which you ask about. There is not, nor can there ever be any "objective proof" of the validity of any spiritual system or practice. It can never be proved that Kriya Yoga is more effective in producing spiritual benefits than e.g. Satanism.

There are however a number of objective facts which can be examined with regard to the authenticity of a particular teacher or organisation. For example it can be objectively verified that Walters and Davis were fairly minor disciples of P Yogananda who came to him towards the end of his life. SRF by contrast is led by senior disciples some of whom spent decades with the Paramahansa. It is also an objective fact that SRF is led by many such disciples whereas Ananda and CSA are in the main the products of individuals. It is an objective fact that P Yogananda founded SRF and took steps to ensure it's survival in perpetuity. By contrast it is by no means certain that he wished Ananda or CSA to exist. It is an objectively verifiable fact that Norman Paulsen is teaching a worldview which is not in accordance with that of P Yogananda's teaching.

There are of course many other objectively verifiable facts which lead me to believe that SRF is more likely to be an authentic source for the teachings and blessings of P Yogananda than some other places.

On the issue of why I practice Kriya Yoga the answer is I would imagine the same for all of us. Because we believe that it will take us to the highest spiritual consciousness, and that we will eventually gain the ultimate reward.

"If your own experience of the results of Kriya practice was in extreme disagreement with what you have been told by others, would you reject your own experience?"

It would of depend on the circumstances and who the others were and what I thought of them. If for example someone whom I genuinely believed was a yogi of high attainment said to me that something I had experienced was simply imagination then I would consider that a possibility.
