So you're saying health shouldn't be a basic human right? You're saying that, the richer you are should determine how healthy a life you live? You and your seven siblings apparently managed to be born without major health issues, but I bet you have health insurance now, don't you? I bet you don't send those SS checks back with a 'no thanks, my generation was raised without government help, so I'll continue to do without' do you?

Oh, and by the way, "your generation" benefitted from a government that assisted many families who struggled to find employment after the stock market crash of 1929, with government-assistance and WPA jobs. You might not have, but "your generation" certainly did.

And if you or one of your siblings had become gravely ill and needed hospitalization on a long-term basis, your mother would've been buried in debts that would've been insurmountable.

FYI, the cost of providing BASIC healthcare to America's uninsured is less than the annual amount we spend rebuilding Iraq. Remember when we were told Iraqi oil would pay for that?

We don't bat an eyelash at spending such a large chunk of money on rebuilding Iraq, but why do we have trouble putting that amount on the health and well-being of the less-foruntate?

Face it...EVERYthing our government does is a form of socialism. Our military protection is a socialist example...we all get the same basic amount of "protection" from evil thanks to our government. Our roads, our highways (rich and poor alike enjoy the same), our education (the same for all, tho the wealthier can afford better if they so choose)... all socialist.

Why can't basic healthy living be a human right?
