Wrong again. In 1953 my mother gave birth to my younger brother 2 months early. There was no way we could pay the bills and we didn't pay them. During the time my mother was in the hospital we stayed with relatives. After mom came home local churches, civic groups, and individuals paid our bills and gave us food, clothing, etc.
In 1956 my little sister was severely burned and was hospitalized for about 30 days before she died. Once again we were not billed. Charity is a great thing. I know first hand, but charity is not a function of government and should not be because the cost is 3 to 4 times greater that private charities and they do a very poor job.

There are no basic human rights. If there were we would all be born healthy, wealthy, and wise.

There also are not any constitutional right to good health. In fact the constitution spells out the responsibilities of the government and says nothing about human rights. However it does say the government can not take my money and give to someone else.

I do believe in helping the poor and disadvantaged but I would rather do it direct or through an organization that has an overhead cost of less than 90%'
