As a member of one of the most powerful unions in the state of Wisconsin, I'm a little insulted by the sad irony of this recent governor's campaign. We have been inundated with pro-Jimmy, anti-Scotty propaganda from day 1, even before the primaries. Our union leadership (including Mr. Johnson, who has had the courtesy to call me on three occasions, along with every other teacher in the state at the same time!) seems to think that we, the TEACHERS, cannot make our own informed decision about our leadership. The OnWEAC news rag for this past month was (no exaggeration) 80% pro-Doyle propaganda, and a couple small articles about actual education of students, which is what we're really supposed to be doing. Will I vote for Doyle? Probably, and sadly it's the lesser of two evils thing at work. I'm not voting for Scotty just because I think he's a tool, but if Doyle doesn't follow through and dump the QEO, all this b.s. will be for nothing. I would not be surprised to see third parties pick up 15% of the statewide vote this Tuesday.
