NorthEast Forum for Miss USA

Welcome to the NorthEast Forum for Miss USA. This board was created for all those fans of ladies from the Northeast who competes or had competed in the Miss USA pageant.

Feel free to talk about pageants in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

(But overly negative, bashing and unacceptable language posts and/or replies will not be tolerated.)

Note: Please limit messages that only pertain to pageants in the northeast, or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss USA in Miss USA time or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss Teen USA in Miss Teen USA time, (the only exception to this rule is those promoting their own MB's), all else not related to Northeast pageant discussion or information will be deleted.

First of all, Nicole needs to understand that if she so badly wants to be in the public eye, then she will ALWAYS have people that dislike her. The most famous celebrities get criticized all the time. Secondly, if she doesn't like reading about the horrible things people have to say about her, then she needs to STAY OFF the forums and stop googling her own name!!! DUH!! Celebrities don't read People magazine....they don't get caught up in what others have to say. There are also better ways to get your name out. She is an okay looking girl. You should not have to resort to sleazy publicity. And as a former, you should be looking for better outlets. Instead, maybe move to LA and give it a shot. Look at Former Miss CA USA (Tamiko Nash) she didn't do unprofessional youtube videos or splash bikini pics across the web or go on a whack reality show. And she is a price is right model. Other formers have gone farther by being selective. And also, she is on these boards 24/7. I think she is beautiful! She has had plenty of outlets that have nothing to do with some college contest. Why does anyone care what Nicole does anyways???? The USA titleholders who have actually gained publicity are all known for something negative! No one knows Miss Teen USA 07 b/c of SC; Tara Conner; Shanna Moakler & her reality show; Rachel Smith falling... If you look down upon reality shows then you must look down on how "unclassy" Katie Blair, Rachel ,Tara & Riyo are for being a part of one. Even the deal or no deal former had to cuss out the host to get recognized; Brandi Sherwood getting plastic surgery & so on. The your tube video was a parody making fun of the two teams that America hates on the show. Those two teams had made fun of them and every team on the show so they mocked them. Yes. Of course everyone knows she graduates in May (like she stated on stage) and is planning on getting her PH.D. In order to do that there are many steps involved such as GRE's, Applying to schools, getting your masters and then continuing to get a Ph.D. So when I said she is getting her Ph.D, SHE IS!!!... in the future! :) (NT) -- Once you get a master's.. it's fairly easy to continue your graduate program. I'm considering competing, I've always been a big fan and spectator. I was wondering if there were any resources anyone could direct me to? Books or websites? It seems like MD and DC pageants are pretty lax compared to some of the other states, so I don't anticipate the career pageant women, but is this the wrong perception?

Thanks, I'd appreciate any advice, suggestions, tips.

What are the limitations to competing in a state? I can't seem to find this online. I notice there are women who might go to school, or live for the most part in one state, but compete in other... Is there any rule about this? Taxes? Residency or something?

You must be able to prove residency in the state you are competing in for the 6 month period prior to the state pageant. I know in MD, we had to give copy of license plus 2 more IDs w/ address. There is an exception that you can go to school out of state, but not for work. Not sure why you think MD is lax..it is not. Lots of returning girls from year to year. I completely agree! I do in fact see potential in Vincenza in the America system but even then I heard her interview is not top quality, netiher is her talent hence why she never placed top 5. I do not understand how or why she won in the USA system and it seems VERY fishy to me that she was extremely close to a lady backstage from Marykay who could have a direct influence on the director.
