NorthEast Forum for Miss USA

Welcome to the NorthEast Forum for Miss USA. This board was created for all those fans of ladies from the Northeast who competes or had competed in the Miss USA pageant.

Feel free to talk about pageants in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

(But overly negative, bashing and unacceptable language posts and/or replies will not be tolerated.)

Note: Please limit messages that only pertain to pageants in the northeast, or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss USA in Miss USA time or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss Teen USA in Miss Teen USA time, (the only exception to this rule is those promoting their own MB's), all else not related to Northeast pageant discussion or information will be deleted.

Am I the only one who thinks Adrienne should come back to DE USA this year? New directors without biases could help. She has been ready for the National Stage for years. Adrienne, please come back for 1 more year. I know she is newly engaged, but you can still compete. You are beautiful and the new directors will recognize it.

Subject: Based on the post listing the "unconfirmed" list of CT 09 contestants, of them all, only Ashley and Heidi have what it takes to get to semis at Nationals...the FL transplants are good, not great. If Ashley wants to compete in Ct, I'm sure she can figure it out and she should know that of the three states, MA, RI and CT that make the most sense, CT BY FAR would be the easiest win. All the other returnees, Erin, Marie-Lynn, Kate, Kristen, Traci, etc. are all very pretty girls , but none are National Competition Level! That's just the way it is. On a lighter note, I'd be happy to fly out from CA and smack some sense into those CT Judges that give us winners like Jacqueline and Brianne (again, lovely girls, but Pageant Material? No way.)

Honestly, I don't think these girls are going to make as big a splash at CT USA this year as they seem to expect with state-hopping...there are some gorgeous girls competing in CT already this year, and there's a reason they couldn't break into the top 5 in FL. According to the USA contract, you MUST have been residing in the state as a permanent resident for at least SIX MONTHS before the pageant. Where the hell are these two girls? Probably down in Florida, waiting for October to pack their suitcases and fly up here. I really hope the CT USA directors thoroughly investigate these girls' residency claims before allowing them to compete. Hope they don't just cash the check without asking questions! It would be a real shame if one of these girls won when they're not even truly representing CT and would likely just take the crown and get back on a plane to Florida. Tatiana grew up in flrida graduated high school in florida goes to college in florida and has worked full time in florida...how does that make her able to compete in Mass? No..only BC she has family that lives there and she uses their address to claim residence... not too lady like!

Subject: Question for Maryland and Rhode Island contestants, Delaware now have the same directors, can you guys give us some info on what to expect. Do they provide hair and make-up people? How are they to work with?

They also do NJ & IL...not sure what they will do with hair & make-up in DE as it is their first year there - but in their other states, they usually have a sponsor who you can sign up with for pageant weekend. Ok, so here is the rundown on CT USA this year! Under new directorship with Laurie Clemente makes it look like things are going to run beautifully!!!

Teen: Only two stand-outs - Tiffany Texeira (woo hoo) and Kelsey McDonald. Other teens are very newbie and aren't quite polished enough.

Miss: Marie-Lynn, Ashley Bickford (yup she's competing in CT!), Erin Oliverio, Elizabeth Ferris, Nikki G, Kristi Rizzo and Heidi Voight.

Opening Number: Teens in Pink outfit of their choice, Miss in Red outfits of their choice.

Interview: Business casual, stylish dress/ skirt blouse combo.

The girls had the official program book photos taken today by pageant photographer SmithMaxfield Photogrpahy. The girls were all instructed to wear something business casual and most had on dresses and skirts, a select few had on business suits. Pretty much looked like what they will have on for interview!

The teen will be a toss up between Tiffany and Kelsey no questions. My personal favorite being Tiffany ( girl is gorgeous!)

The miss will be between Marie-Lynn, Ashley Bickford, and to my surprise, Heidi Voight. We'll have to wait and see!

I think it's a mistake to do headshots at orientation for two reasons- 1. it's their first appearance and they don't typically have access to truly skilled prep people (hair, makeup) and 2- the headshots are always quasi-professional. Putting all the girls in the same color t-shirt doesn't make for a slick, well-crafted look and again, the girls aren't typically at their best for these photos. I disagree. 1. The girls were told, ahead of time, to make sure their hair/makeup looks good for their picture. 2. Their pictures are being taken in an "outfit of their choice", knowing that it is for the program book. Height is a MAJOR part of winning a crown when going to Miss USA and rhode island just seems to love sending those short girls! They choose attractive, smart girls most of the time but always SHORT! and THAT is why they have still YET to walk away with a National winning title -

it was obvious when rACHEAL smith won next to Danielle Lacourse - it was like a message to Rhode Island to STOP sending the short girls and gicve the national stage a TALL girl that could be taken seriously to compete at Miss Universe against girls that are usually NOT under 5'9!

Yeah, well, they still were able to capture state titles. Just because they weren't what the MAO were looking for at the time doesn't mean they "accomplished nothing." True, MAO and MUO are different breeds, but I personally think the reason both MAO girls didn't do as well at Miss A is because they're better suited to Miss USA. As for Marie, you're wrong about that too. Many Miss USAs have been former Teen titleholders. Rachel and Tara are just two. Can we discuss the upcoming competition without bashing any of these women? They're doing nothing wrong by entering a pageant. According to all the other boards a month or so ago all charges were dropped and it was found that it was indeed an accident from bad Maine weather and she was never drinking. As far as she goes - I think she would do great at USA. Kristi Rizzo keeps trying and should give up, just not facially pretty enough. Lindsay competed once, did nothing, too heavy. Heidi Voight is competing and she should do great, I also think Kate Gregory and Marie Lynn could be neck and neck for top 2 standing this year. GORGEOUS GIRLS!!!! Actually, the contract for local titleholders in the MAO stipulates that they are not allowed to compete in any other pageant during the 365 day year as Miss Local. However, Kristen's title is Miss Fairfield County, and that local organization has permitted a titleholder to breach her contract in the past. Kristi Rizzo honored her contract until the state pageant, but afterwards left for another pageant system before she completed her year of service. Apparently they permitted her to do so, but it caused quite a stir among the CT MAO community. Girls take on an obilgation of a year of service and they should honor it. If history is any indication, they might let Kristen breach her contract as well. That was the year that Kristi was Miss Maritime. She was actually the 1ru. I heard that she accepted the title,with the understanding that she would only go as far as State. How is that possible if she was 1st RU? Did the original Miss Maritime resign? Even if that were the case she would still be obligated to finish the year if she agreed to take on the responsibility. But a local franchise cannot grant that kind of contract, only the state. I want to share some well-kept secrets with all contestants that could seriously give you the edge in the swimsuit compeition AND gown on-stage. Several past winners have used body and face makeup by a company called It Cosmetics.

They have products like "Abs in a Box" "Smokin' Hot Legs" and even "Beautiful Breasts" that totally have the same affect as working out and plastic surgery. I even know some of the past Miss Teen USA winners that still use the products like Shelley Hennig Miss Teen USA 2004 who is now on that show Days of our Lives. She recently said how she uses them on Extra TV. And Tami Farrell Miss Teen USA 2002.

At the Miss New York USA 2006 pageant held in albany in late 2005, there was this beautiful blonde girl who wore a gold dress and yellow bikini. She was 18 at the time. I remember that she won either photogenic or congeniality. I can't find ANY informtion as to what her name was. Could someone please help me?

Tara connor was probably one of the worst Miss USA's in History. She did NOTHING to enhance positive attributes concerning the competition!

She was definetly an exception as far as height goes, but anyone who pays attention to pageants and watches the national competitions, knows that while some shorties will sneak in if their is not really any other competiton to go against (and her year was poor for Miss USA in my opinion, she stood out although being short because the competition was weak to begin with!)

Texas has had the highest number of winners in the miss USA history! and they have ALL been 5'8 and taller! as well as two universe winners!

It's widely known what Trump tells the judges to look for at a national level and both him and Paula Shugart LOVE a girl who has beauty, composition AND height!

Chelsea Belanger (who recently moved to Texas) represented Maryland at the national pageant and won the title of AMERICA'S MISS 2008 on July 5, 2008 at The International Plaza Resort & Spa in Orlando, Florida. Chelsea won the Maryland title on August 18, 2007.

Also crowned was Hannah Mollerick of Laurel, Maryland who received the title of AMERICA'S MISS TEEN 2008.
