NorthEast Forum for Miss USA

Welcome to the NorthEast Forum for Miss USA. This board was created for all those fans of ladies from the Northeast who competes or had competed in the Miss USA pageant.

Feel free to talk about pageants in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

(But overly negative, bashing and unacceptable language posts and/or replies will not be tolerated.)

Note: Please limit messages that only pertain to pageants in the northeast, or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss USA in Miss USA time or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss Teen USA in Miss Teen USA time, (the only exception to this rule is those promoting their own MB's), all else not related to Northeast pageant discussion or information will be deleted.

Okay, attendees, let's hear your thoughts. From a distance, at the very least, it looks like CT has a winner that only needs a bit of modification as opposed to a complete overhaul. A huge step in the right direction....though Ashley's smile just makes my day and even though I'm not a Marie-Lynn fan, you can't help but think she should have been the one crowning her successor. Pageant mom that is an excellent question, judges are given specific guidelines from the director. However, when a contestant competes she will receive a packet that will give her the guidelines for participation. I recommend purchasing the DVD/VHS of that year or the last years’ state pageant. Study the DVD, the semi-finalist (top 15/10) selected by the judges will give you a window to see what the judges are looking for. Every pageant is different and the requirements are different. Either you attend the pageant you are interested in, or order their DVD. If you are interested in the USA/Teen USA pageant, toning of the body is important, selecting a swimsuit, and gown that flatters your body is just as important. Everything should flow, hair, accessories, i.e, jewelry selection, shoes etc. In other words do your homework and it will pay off. (NT) -- ., Tuesday, October 21, 10:18:09am

Sure, I'd like to see Ashley go to nationals (but she's still has a few years left to compete-- I've every confidence that she'll get there) but in the meantime, I don't think Monica's win is necessarily a bad thing at all. She just needs a little re-styling (reminds me a little of Olga Litvinenko - Teen 07)-- another of Eastern European heritage who, after a little work, look fantastic and competed well at Teen Nationals to the point where many thought she'd crack semis). She moved to Boston only recently (less than 6 months ago). She didn't compete in RI because the time she did before she didn't even make Top 5 and figured less competition in CT. If she continues to live in Boston, she will be eligible to compete in Miss Mass instead of CT. She can probably claim residency with her parents next year if she really wants to compete in CT again. MLP did not gain a lot of weight. Some of you like to play head games at the expense of other contestants or if someone is not your favorite. MLP looked fabulous she was a welcoming addition into top five. Her entire performance was beautiful and I loved her look from her hair right down to her shoes. The entire top five were deserving spots as top ten. CT this year was competitive there were several pretty girls that did an exceptional job that did not make the top ten. A lot has to do with toning of the legs, stomach, arms and walking properly in their heels. One girl I was rooting for was Tracey in the Miss division. You Misses had the judges scratching their heads beauty wise, but some of you need to fine tune the toning of the body. You all had a little something that made you stand out from the rest. PA tickets went on sale today, so it shouldnt be long until the contestant photos are posted. I cant wait to see LauRen. This year, both the Miss and Teen are being held together. Heard the numbers are lower than usual. Is this true for other states? Cant wait to see who is all competing and how many returns.

Yes she was relieved of her duties as Miss Teen Louisiana USA. Her and her friends walked out on a 46.07 bill at a restaurant...she left her purse. I wish I was able to see the prelims but just couldnt afford it! Based on the horrid head shots (not the fault of the contestants) I would have to go with the remaining top 4 from last year and then throw in either carlson or prescious grady. It is a shame that still in today's society the perception of beauty is that of light skin, long hair and keene features. This young lady is beautiful and even more so she continues to break the mold of those before her to show that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, skins tones and hair textures. Please don't be so rude and discredit her because your first runner up didn't win. There will be plenty more times for Alyssa to walk the stage and improve so she to can carry the title once again. I congratulate that which is unique and different for what we are use to seeing in this system. I'm sure she will do well at MISS USA and make NJ very proud once again. It is going to be an interesting and possibly a refreshing pageant with new leaders at the helm. Not sure of Christine can compete as she is Miss New Castle County MAO 08. Some girls stood out and some were forgetable. You never know what they'll go for in NJ. Krista is tall and gorgeous and being the returning 1stRU she's clearly the front runner but she lacks stage presence. Alyssa is awesome but she's still looking teen to me. well my personal top 3 is Alyssa Campanella, Krista Richman, Andrea Georger. All 3 girls have totally different looks so it depends whether the judges are going for Runway or Maxim. Well girls the word I'm hearing is that there is one open spot in the top 5 this year because Adrienne Imediato is not competing. She has entered 5x's and been in the top 5 each time. That says a lot because there are many pretty faces up there pageant day! I hear shes engaged and works as a nurse with premature babies. Too bad DE didn't send her to nationals, whether you like her or not she had the brains, beauty and experience ... and yes we know she is short but thats all she was missing to endure the competition at nationals. Heard she is assisting another competitor who is stunning. So... after all the nasty things posted here about her in the past she must still love the pageant scene. I will miss seeing her there ... but wish her the best in what ever shes into.

Ok... listen... I too have loved Adrienne Immediato over the years BUT she ended exactly where she was meant to. As for brains... don't make statements on this Board that will encourage or "obligate" others to have a not-so-nice response. I totally agree with your thoughts on Tiffany... the one good thing is that she will have better directors than she would have in previous years - the Clemente team are known for being involved in their titleholders reign... and their girls have been really well prepared for Miss USA & Teen USA.
