NorthEast Forum for Miss USA

Welcome to the NorthEast Forum for Miss USA. This board was created for all those fans of ladies from the Northeast who competes or had competed in the Miss USA pageant.

Feel free to talk about pageants in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

(But overly negative, bashing and unacceptable language posts and/or replies will not be tolerated.)

Note: Please limit messages that only pertain to pageants in the northeast, or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss USA in Miss USA time or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss Teen USA in Miss Teen USA time, (the only exception to this rule is those promoting their own MB's), all else not related to Northeast pageant discussion or information will be deleted.

Who went to tell us who they think will be in top 15 so far I predict:

Are any pageant designers interested in taking part in a design challenge?

10 talented designers will be accepted into the Project Pageant Runway competition. The winner will receive a great prize and press coverage. The real winners will be charity as each designer will choose a charity of their choice.

At the end of the competition, a group of qualified pageant and design professionals will choose the winner and the designs will be sold in an auction type sale with all the money going to the designers favorite charity.

The design challenge will be simple. Design a wardrobe for a pageant contestant and keep the total cost under X amount of dollars. (more finite rules will follow). Your portfolio muct consist of three items. For instance a gown, interview suit and sportwear. or gown interview outfit and swimwear.

I am looking for a start to Project Pageant Runway next January with an end date of late March. Each week you will be asked to submit photos of your work in progress so the public can view the experience online.

This was also posted on another Board....."I thought it was a wonderful fast moving show. I personally was partial to Brittany McNeill and was quite dissapointed that she was not in the top 5. She was a standout Brunette that is for sure and afterward so many people were stating the same because she really did rock the stage! The talk started about "all blondes" with the exception of Niambi Powell (awesome lady) I felt like Ashley and Cassandra deserved to be there for sure....I am not sure how I feel about Courtney Hejl yet because as polished as she is she still comes across like a teen. I do like her though. Amber gwin simply cannot answer a question and keeps taking up space. I am glad to hear that Brittany McNeill and Dina Nesheiwat took the loss well and I am sorry to hear that Brittany Reichenbach took it so badly. Some tears are to be expected, they all try so hard year after year but in the end only one can be left standing. So...This was the year for the blondes in Maryland but I must say she is a beauty.... Like she did here she is gonna stand out in a crowd of Brunettes there....that was the plan......(fingers crossed)....Good luck Cassandra at Nationals!"

All the bashing of the best chance Delaware will ever have of breaking the Top 15 at Miss USA. She lost out at 18 to an unfriendly Purdy the turtle, next was Miss DUI USA, next the Teen Queen who probably finished last at Miss USA, and last year a real competition where both Vincenza and Bosso were pretty awesome. Kelly Horst seems to have given up, lets face it Delaware needs better judges, last years trio of has been Mrs. Whoever America's can't judge woman who are younger than their daughters. Adrienne was awesome out in Portland,OR at Miss Earth US and blew away the competition in evening gown and is finally getting noticed. She is an RN, and yes maybe growing up at 22..give her a break. So the the USA "worst" state can finally crack Top 15...

Gloucester County residents vie for Miss New Jersey USA title.

Three area young women are among those who will compete for the title of Miss New Jersey USA during the annual pageant at the Hilton Parsippany Hotel this weekend. Competition is scheduled to take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Included are Melissa Caltabiano of Mullica Hill, Wendy Cherlaine Logan of Ewing (formerly of Deptford and Glassboro) and Melissa Jean Paine of Westville.



Melissa Caltabiano, 19, is the daughter of Lisa and Joe Eivich Jr. and a sophomore honor student at Widener University. Her hobbies and activities include singing, playing piano, ballet and scrapbooking. She also volunteers for D.A.S.H. (Domestic Abuse Stops Here) Foundation and was recently selected to do a photo shoot for Supermodels Unlimited magazine.





Wendy Cherlaine Logan, 21, of Ewing is the daughter of the late Anthony Bruce Swartwood Sr. She attended GCC for two years, graduating in May 2007 with an Associate in Art, Art & Science Communication Studies. She transfered to Ewing to attend The College of New Jersey.

She was a resident of Glassboro for about 3 1/2 years and her family currently resides in the Deptford and Glassboro area. Her future aspirations include creating a children's cancer awareness non-profit organization dedicated to her four-year-old brother, Anthony "AJ" Swartwood Jr., who lives in Deptford with other family members and is presently maintaining in stage four with Wilms tumor cancer.


Melissa Jean Paine, 20, is the daughter of Kevin and Denise Paine, granddaughter of Geraldine Fries and goddaughter of Rose Eife. She attends Gloucester County College where she is a nursing major.

The Miss New Jersey USA and Miss New Jersey Teen USA pageants are the official preliminaries to the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and Miss Universe pageants, owned and produced by Donald J. Trump and NBC Television.

The young woman chosen as Miss New Jersey USA 2008 will go on to represent the state of New Jersey in the 2008 Miss USA pageant as seen live on NBC Television.

I found this online in a hometown paper. It's a blog that was written by a fitness columnist in Kentucky and there's a photo of her and Builtboy at the top of the article. It says he won a male fitness model contest last week in NYC! Built to Win indeed; Go Justin!!! If someone could post the photo that would be great. I realize that not everyone is fans of everyone around them, but I know people that enjoy him and his work will appreciate this...especially since he trains gals from NH, NY and now CT :))
