NorthEast Forum for Miss USA

Welcome to the NorthEast Forum for Miss USA. This board was created for all those fans of ladies from the Northeast who competes or had competed in the Miss USA pageant.

Feel free to talk about pageants in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

(But overly negative, bashing and unacceptable language posts and/or replies will not be tolerated.)

Note: Please limit messages that only pertain to pageants in the northeast, or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss USA in Miss USA time or contestants from the northeast competing at Miss Teen USA in Miss Teen USA time, (the only exception to this rule is those promoting their own MB's), all else not related to Northeast pageant discussion or information will be deleted.

Hello ladies!!! Is anyone going to the interviews on the 2nd??? What should we expect??? Good luck to anyone who is competing this year... I'm excited!!!! =)

They will give you an overview of what to expect for the pageant, have you fill out a few initial forms, and give you the registration packet. They will ask you to submit a deposit of some sort to reserve your place (I think it's around $200 or $300), but you can pay this at a later date after thinking about it, if you want. From a reliable source who claims Alison & Monica are both living in NYC. And yes, Mass has spent much of her time in NY, she should have competed there. CT spent more time in Mass than CT and now lives in NYC. Its just wrong, I guess now that Miss USA is over they feel they can just can move away. Well shame on Clemente Productions that her Miss Mass is living in NYC and her Miss CT is telling everyone that she lives in Mass. It's just terrible that the director allows this to happen, neither of these girls spent any great amount of time in their winning State. Making an appearance dosen't make you a good titleholder. Someone started this rumour last year also, in fact they said one girl from CA and one from FL were statehopping to CT. Rumorus happen every year. I for one would not be surprised if it did happen though, since Clemente doesn't seem to give two sh*ts whether their girls are actually FROM the states they supposedly represent. It's sad. As a CT native I want to support a Miss CT USA who is- shocker!- actually FROM CONNECTICUT. Not these statehoppers who use my state as a steppingstone to get to Miss USA. It's not that difficult to show residency. It's the director that allows this to happen. In Mass last year the girl from Florida used her fathers address to compete, she had been in Florida and competed in Florida the previous 2 yrs and flew in to compete in Mass and went back to Florida. Monica was working in Ct.until Feb. and then moved back to Mass. Alison came back to Mass in Feb and then went back to NYC after Miss USA. Both of these titleholders didn't live up to the contract, and yet they still hold their titles, Clemente clearly knows all this information along with her team, and just sweep it under the rug. What a shame for the girls that wanted the titles for the right reasons. It's all about the money for the directors and nothing more. I hope this year turns out better. I agree completely. Even Ashley Bickford, who I like as a person, is a prime example of this. She's competed in RI, CT, and now MA if the rumours are true. I can't even keep up with it all! Clemente really does just care about the money. As long as they get their $1,000 per girl, they don't ask questions. You don't have to prove anything to fulfill the residency requirements- you could even give a friend's address if you wanted to because they really don't care. It's a free for all! I can't understand all the grief she took for SS. Sure she could have been a little more toned and a little more energetic, but she had the BEST legs in the competition bar none. No she was not the BEST Connecticut ever sent to nationals. Miss Connecticut 1997 was number 15th, Miss Connecticut 1996 was number 11 at nationals, Miss Connecticut 1984 is a beauty who won Miss Photogentic and made top ten at Miss Teen USA 1984 (she was miss wisconsin teen) she became a professional international runwauy model, can't forget Miss Connecticut USA 2002, her body rocked at nationals. National American Miss is looking for judges for its up-coming pageants to be held August 21-24 at the Hyatt Regency Rochester Hotel in Rochester, NY. Mileage, hotel, and meals are provided from Friday to checkout on Tuesday morning. We need judges for the main (formal wear, on-stage introduction, interview) and optional (talent, modeling, commercial, etc.) events. Same sex judges or judges who come with a significant other must share a room. If you have a reasonable commute to the pageant site and have pageantry experience or related experiences in evaluating people, skills, and things, please email me at jjames@prodigy.net as soon as possible.

I think California succeeded in making a joke out of the entire organization - I doubt very much Kate surpassed her as far as that is concerned. Delaware IS a joke. It has been for years. The fact that they are the only state that has never placed is a joke on it's own. All kate did was get the attention of the organization, and that is pretty remarkable. kate has gotten more attention at nationals than any ofther Miss Del in history, and I think it's making alot of people very jealous. Despite the misapplied "cat's eyes" makeup, Miss Connecticut USA is a stunner, and very much in the Miss Universe mode. I know everyone is focused on Miss USA but I had some questions about competing in NY this year. I competed in a big pageant state and did well- i am hoping to do NY because i am originally from here and i have moved back permanently.
i just wanted to know if its a state where you have to compete more than once to be considered a potential queen? what are the directors like? i'd love for anyone who competed before to tell me about their experiences. thanks!
