I chose all metal and I am very comfortable with my decision. I work in a processing plant and my co-workers could care less that I wear braces. Even if I had chose ceramics, I had to wear elastics and power chains and have gaps in my upper arch from extractions, which are highly visible. Also with all metal, I get to wear cool colors if I wish. Actually, I am more self conscious of the gaps than the metal braces themselves. But the gaps are part of the "things sometimes get worse before they better" stage.
