Date Posted: Sun, Feb 01 2009, 8:50:51 In reply to: Concerned Neighbor 's message, "Association after our basketball goals?" on Fri, Jan 30 2009, 17:19:15 It's tough to read some of the posts here, knowing that the things being discussed or posted as fact - are so far off base. I take a lot of heat here - because Sean took offense when I said there was a new board in town and things are going to get done. I apologized to him for the way that came off a long time ago - and hoped we could get past his personal attacks on me. Let me clear some things up: 1. My garbage can is in my garage. I don't like it there, but that's where it is and that's where it has been. 2. We do have a camping trailer - and since he initially commented and corrected me on my misinterpretation of the rules - It's kept on a storage lot. I do not store it in my driveway. So with that said - the board has been working with a neighbor who complained about the goals. It was never a target of this board. We have also been working over the last few months to find a way to re-word the covenants so this wasn't an issue. My comments to the board over the last few meetings were to remind them of two things: 1. Our job is to enforce the rules - whether we liked them or not. We all signed the covenants (even Sean), we all know the rules. 2. If the rules are wrong - change them. But until they are changed - all of us residents need to follow them - or help get them changed. Sean has not come to a HOA meeting since he quit the HOA board last year. Please don't let one person take you all down these rabbit holes, especially when he doesn't know what's going on. If you want to find out facts for yourself - come to the HOA meeting - the board is made of of your neighbors, and all we want to do is help Willoughby Station be the best place to live in Mt. Juliet. Now as for the internet - we did have a gentleman come in and speak to us about the options and costs. All of the board felt that the cost was too high. The service would be nice; however we could not justify the cost. Brett thought it would be nice to get wireless around the pool area, as he saw this as a nice benefit to those who wanted to work in such a nice setting. But no one knew ahead of the presentation that the cost would be so high. Cameras - we have a representative in the community who could get us a great deal (saving thousands) on a really nice camera system, however the installation of that system was too expensive (I think the bid was over $30,000). Last week (I believe) we voted to but a system from Sams Club or Costco - that was $1,000 off through January). I believe the cost for that was $1.999. This system will be installed in the common area as soon as feasible in order to protect our families and the common area. One person posted on here - making it sound like we wanted to watch your kids... I'm not certain where his mind is at - but he made it sound inappropriate. If you have questions, or comments - see one of the HOA board members, or better yet come to an HOA meeting. They are held at 7pm, once a month. But please - don't allow some yahoo to stir up all kinds of grief and trouble over his misinterpretation of things not happening. I admire him for actually posting using his real name though. One last note - the dog waste stations - the ones that I took so much grief over - well I emptied about 150 pounds of waste from them over the last few months. I know that it's making a difference in the park, and I appreciate those who use it. If you want to know what's going on - please ask one of us. But please know that several people, who regularly post to this web site, are angry, bitter, hurt people trying to hurt other people.
