| Subject: Re: Definitely! Although the lavender gown was nice and unique it wasn’t the perfect gown for Crystal and I expect her national gown will be just that – perfect! Not since Maryanne Sapio (1999) and Marlise Ricardos before her (1988) has Miss California worn her state gown on the Miss America stage. I might add that Marlise’s gown was regal stunning (for that time) and perfectly understood why she wore the same gown both at the state and national level. In most cases, the gown worn at the national level is usually an improvement over what the titleholder wore at the state level. However, there have been a few questionable gowns worn by Miss CA at Miss America. | |
