"Hating on and hating are two different things, first of all. Hating on is a term of art used to describe disdain. This state has been amazing in the past and has the potential to be wonderful once again. However, as long as the people in power remain in power, this state's economy will continue to drag down the state as a whole. I wish I could love California, I really wish I could. But I believe we are too far gone to rebound. And as Miss California, my terminology would be different, but my sentiments would remain the same. Two political races, and for a political party, across both LA and Orange County. I know what is wrong with this state. I've seen it all first hand, regardless of your political affiliation. California was the land of opportunity for my parents, each of whom moved here from New York and Chicago, respectively. I do not believe that California is the land of opportunity for my generation. Until it can prove itself otherwise, I have no allegiance. That is the beauty of our federal system...we can pick and choose which state(s) best fit us. Now, if I'd moved before I aged out, you'd all have had TONS to say about that! I can just hear the "carpetbagger" comments. So let it go, y'all. I've never aimed to please ANY of you.
