I was reading a couple of comments on the lifetime board which I agree with and it got me thinking. The comments had to do with the double standard in the military and i would love to get your guys input on my thoughts after I read the posts because they got me thinking. Someone over there brought up the double standard in the military topic after CJ's comment in one of the episodes. Because I definitely see a double standard pattern with punishment and reprimanding for soldiers as opposed to the wives or husbands and it's been bugging me.

First off lets take Trevor. Trevor comes home and after his injury ends up with a pain killer addiction problem which I'm thinking was vicodin. He's going off post and getting the drugs from a doctor who wants cash so it can't be traced back to him. While Joan his superior finds out she hides it and does nothing but tell him to fix his problem. He continues to abuse the drugs and then gets in his car and drives off like a maniac and wrecks his car and is passed out in it for who knows how long. In real life we know that the cops would have found the car or someone would have come acrossed it and reported it, but alas nothing happens and the car is magically fixed no questions asked. And when Trevor goes to see Joan at the hospital in her room he lifts some vicodin off the nurses cart and leaves. Now the doctors and nurses are responsible and have to account for the drugs they are assigned. That was never addressed and swept under the rug. Along with the fact that they're all sitting at the hospital when Joan needs a transfusion and openly talking about Trevors(A SOLDIERS)drug problem and nothing happens to him. But alas the guy gets a promotion. HUH!!!

Corporal Mac has an affair with an officers wife. Yet while Denise gets raked over the coals and has her butt handed to her, nothing happens to Mac. He's a soldier and should also be held accountable for the affair. They have his name and know who she is. DOUBLE STANDARD, what the heck.

Now we have Mr. Fartsy pants Frank who knowingly goes into has a woman soldier in his quarters, has a make out session and lays down on the bed with her on top. And of course nothing happens, but they talked all night in HIS QUARTERS. She comes out of his quarters the next morning and he's helping her with her clothes and has a dreamy look on his face while he watches her right out there in view of God and every other soldier in his unit. And NOTHING, NADA happens to him. I'll bet he gets a promotion out of it too.

DOUBLE STANDARD, heck yeah!!! I'll get off my soap box now but this is just something that has been bugging me for a while, can you tell. Thanks for listening and I'd love to read your thoughts.

- Hi Katie, I'm lol because I posted the double standand question about what will happen to Riley McCadden (Mac) and am still hoping an army wife will answer that query. Notice too the innuendo at the hospital between Denise and Getti.No one is giving Getti the 2nd degree about going after a married woman. Michael saying that there is no double standard to CJ when no one mentions what happened to Corporal McCadden was a joke. Roxy's car still looked damaged to me but great points about Trevor. How come they are not raking Roxy over the coals for her behaviour and brazeness when speaking to superior officers and how that might effect Trevor's career when they are all over Denise's behaviour? Good Morning Everyone! Well here we go with Episode 5 and can I just say WOW, what an amazing episode.... -- KH, 19:45:20 07/06/09 Mon
First off I have to say it was very hard watching Denise and Frank going through the divorce proceedings. They have definitely aired what their feeling about each other in their respective meetings with their lawyers, but when it came down to someone else badmouthing the other one they didn't like that. It was like they were saying it's OK if I have issues with my respective spouse, but I don't want you badmouthing them. I think we have this in real life, where it's OK to vent your pent up frustrations with someone you love and care for, but don't you badmouth them. Frank is definitely in his gung ho let's get this going and over with. He even made the commment, "No thank you, I've made up my mind and I don't want there to be any outstanding issues." He tried one time not to speak for Denise, but he just can't help himself. That rigid need to control everything attitude just keeps coming to the surface and he just can't let it go. He just frustrates the living daylights out of me...LOL. Frank is like a nuclear reactor and rushing into doing something without thinking and trying to talk and think things through first. He just makes me want to pull my hair out...LOL. Once again I have to send out a Big High Five to Catherine for her acting in this episode. Her facial expressions just speak volumes with no words needing to be spoken. You could just read in her face all what she was trying to say. Another amazing job Catherine and it's just such a pleasure to watch you do your craft.

Can I just say I wanted tojump through the TV screen and give Roland a BIG HUG! GO ROLAND! And see I just knew he was going to tell the ladies about his affair and how Denise may have been dissappointed, but she NEVER stopped being his friend. He said everything to the 3 ladies that I have wanted to say for quite a while now. His talk with Denise when she went to see him after the first meeting with the mediator was so touching and I just loved how when Roland brought up her friends and Claudia Joy and Denise said it was "Ok because she would probably act and do the same thing" he said "No you wouldn't, you would be there for them just like you were there for me and I'll never forget that." Amen Roland! And his talk with the girls was just very respectful and to the point. After Claudia Joy's remark about that "not being fair that they were her friends (Claudia Joy can be a bit self righteous at times, a little too perfect we might need to mess her up a bit...LOL)," Roland retorts, "Are you." He was so right because they weren't being her friend and they did stop being her friend and abandon her. None of them made an effort to go talk it out with her and listen and be there. I'm still convinced if Claudia Joy hadn't run into Denise in the parking lot she would not have made an attempt to talk with her. So once again, amazing speech Roland and a big hug to him...LOL.

The whole Claudia Joy, Michael and Emmalyn thing unfortunately is starting to test my patience and nerves. Once again we had Claudia Joy walking through the house screaming her name and a confrontation, so my Mom and I screamed as well...LOL. I do realize what they're trying to do, but it's getting a bit repeatative and I'd like to see resolved quickly and I think it's time to move on to something else.

It was Roxy and the bar again this week and not a good turn out for the reopening. I'm not sure about Viola yet, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see if she's as honest as she say's she is.

Pamela and Chase are having some issues. This is just my opinion, but I thought Chase was acting a bit like immature last night. These two definitely have a volatile (if that's the right word for it or maybe passionate is a better word)relationship. They are both very strong willed people and don't back down, but I just thought Chase was acting a bit over the top critisizing everything from the furniture, the arrangement of the furniture and how she was practicing football with their son. Take a step back Chase and chill out...LOL.

It was nice that Joan and Roland found the perfect church for the christening of Sarah Elizabeth. It worked out to be everything Joan envisioned and it was nice to see Roland's support of her feelings and opinions.

Again, another Great Episode! The previews for next week look amazing and they said it's going to be the most emotional of the Season. I can't wait to see it!

  - Interesting point on Chase Ciara because I have to agree with you in the feeling that Chase definitely has some Frank tendencies. I just loved the scene where Pamela was running around putting the furniture back to the way she had it...LOL. I found myself laughing and saying to myself I would be doing the exact same thing...LOL. IMHO as well Frank definitely needs some enlightening whether it be with counceling or a 2 by 4...LOL. I have to refer back to one of the commentaries on the Season 2 DVD where Brian said that Frank is misunderstood. I cracked up at that because I don't see him that way at all. IMHO Frank is a very emotionally controlling and manipulative man. I'm hoping in future episodes with counseling this will be brought to his attention so he can change. Well here we go with Episode 4 already. What did everyone think? There were alot of different storylines going on last night and packed into one episode... -- KH, 22:50:39 06/29/09 Mon
First off we'll start with my/our favorite character Denise. Man my heart just breaks for her. I mean we all know that what she did was wrong, but she sure is going through it from all ends. I'm a little put off by Claudia Joy and her comments to Denise. If Claudia Joy hadn't run into Denise at the market, she still wouldn't have made an attempt to talk to Denise no matter if she's not sure what to say to her or not. And I've never seen Claudia Joy at a loss for words (on any subject...LOL). It was very enlightening when Claudia Joy said she's been running it through her mind trying to make sense of what Denise did and why and Denise answering back "That makes two of us." Ummm, light bulb moment Claudia Joy, if her friends had bothered to confront her and talk to her after it all came out, they might have understood things and Denise better. I don't see Denise thinking she's the victim at all, she's expressed regret and remorse a few times now, especially her statement to Roland, "My God what have I done." I'm a bit put out by her so called friends at this moment. I'm glad she's at least got Roland. And I'm sorry folks, but I can't even draw up one bit of sympathy for Frank. To me he seems more put out and ticked off by the fact that he had to come home to deal with it than he is about the affair. I just see no emotion of hurt or sadness from him, just the usual stoic, crabby, ticked off attitude he always has. And while I understand him feeling hurt and angry, he didn't even make an attempt to talk to her, he just asked his question and told her to leave and then says "let me know where you are so we can get the lawyers started on this." Franky my boy, your still not on my list...LOL. If I may I have to agree with Jubellant's description of Frank from down below so I'd like to copy it here. "Frank is a hot head. He reacts to situations first, then backtracks. Denise's nursing career, his caveman attitude then he buys balloons, Jeremy he tosses out on his ear, then goes to see him at bootcamp, drives off re: Getti's kiss news, then agrees to go to counselling. It is amazing he has survived combat if he goes charging in before he has fully analysed the situation and hasn't got a clue as to the consequences. Frank is out of his element communication-wise and only knows how to take charge even if he has not fully grasped the situation. TS's take on flexibility is hilarious it is more of he being backed into a corner with little options but to accept what is happening or bail." I agree Jubellant.

Claudia Joy, Michael and Emmalyn. A bit of the same old same old there dealing with Emmalyn's moods and rebellion. My Mom and I were joking last night that if we see and hear Claudia Joy walk through the house and yell "Emmalyn" one more time we might scream as well...LOL. And a quick question here for you, Michael just got a promotion to brigadere General not that long ago and now all of a sudden he's been promoted again to a 2 star General, doesn't that seem a bit odd and fast?

Pamela got to move into her new house and I think Roxy was a bit sad and a bit jealous eventhough she later worked it through. I did crack up when Roxy, Trevor and the kids went over to Pamela's house for dinner and Roxy said, "Give me a beer, I want to pee in each one of her bathrooms"...LOL.

Roland has a new job and can get back to really helping people. Good for him, but I'm not to sure about this Price fellow. Something doesn't set well with me about him and I can't quite put my finger on it. And Joan chose to deploy over staying on and being Michaels second in command. I think this is something that both Roland and Joan are going to have to adjust to and Joan might find it a bit more difficult when the time comes for her to leave. But in any case, she made her decision, but I'm wondering if something doesn't come up or happen to change that. Maybe the demise of Evan Connor...LOL.

Another great episode and of course as usual I can't wait for next weeks episode to get here.

I was drawing a parallel about how she felt awkward about seeing Roland and was trying to avoid him and how now when CJ is doing the same thing until confronted, Denise gets on her high horse. At the time CJ was going through alot and she had already stood up for Denise once already to Michael and now Denise continues her behaviour but this time follows through with her desires. Even though she said she was his friend and she supported him she still initially tried to avoid him. Hope that clarifies things a bit KH.   - Good point one I kinda of thought about last year too. Also Denise had been physically abused by her son and emotionally abused by her husband for years. He generally barks at her and berates anything she has to say. She looked so happy when she thought he was coming to terms with her motorcycle and then he goes and lets fly his I let you remark that just crushed her spirit. She was a battered woman and I think she just reached her breaking point. Yes she loved/loves Frank but I think she was beginning to resent him bigtime and view him as being her oppressor. Sooner or later one has to break out and Denise went on a rebellious self destructive streak. I really can't wait to her what comes out as they try to work through things.   - Good thoughts Ciara, I've been thinking along these lines myself. We'll have to see what the writers do and how they handle it. I just don't know I'm hoping they don't continue on the poor Frank the amazing soldier who risks his life and look what his awful wife did. I am just of the opinion that the old writers from last season were just so bent on Denise having an affair, they weren't letting that idea go no matter what. - First off I have been sticking up for Frank since season 1 but Sunday nite I wanted to throttle him!!!!!!!! I REALLY thought he would think about him and D when he was talking w. that young soldier (which for a second I thought I was Mikey from JAG!)....I actually was nervous for D when Frank was coming home. When he treated her that way- oh boy I just wanted to reach into the screen and hug her :( Yes Frank is hurt and he has the right to feel that but not acting like a complete jerk.   - Nice points. Even though Frank eventually forgave Jeremy it was not right away. The thing about Denise's fling is, it is not a private family matter or even something known by a select few. That is why Denise was so upset about the inability to contain this. She felt as if a scarlet A was attached to her forehead in terms of Getti, and that wasn't even common knowledge. I can only imagine how she feels now! I really dislike what the writers did to Denise's dignity. I can see why JenniferM threw in the towel. Mac would have divorced Ragle and Denise would have divorced Frank. They are both principled people. I hate it when they treat fans as imbeciles and expect us to fall for such implausible SL's hook line and sinker without a realistic credible reason for outrageous behaviour.   - Hi Violet! I have a feeling that they're just going to sweep Frank's indiscretion under the rug. Frank reminised in his mind about the kiss, but he never told Jeremy that they kissed and layed down on the bed. All he told Jeremy was that she spent the night there, but all they did was just talk, he said it was inappropriate, but all they did was talk. He lied by omission. I'll be very surprised if they bring his indiscretion up at all. I'm not sure why they changed their mind on Frank's affair, especially after Deb Spera said in a interview last year that Frank did have an affair and that she was his awakening and that he had needs too.   - What seems bizarre to me is that Frank and Denise were so worried about telling Jeremy they were seperated but they both carried out behaviours far more damaging to his ability to focus on his war tasks. Everyone knows about his mother and I can just hear the comments and he sees his Dad in a questionable circumstance. So much for worrying about their son! As for SL backtracking, I think they realized the fans are fed up with the affairs angle. There are so many more compelling issues to deal with and cheating is a big turn off. They should have heeded CB and just not have gone there with her character. Getti was interesting and we saw Denise be the person we knew she was by struggling to do the right thing. - Frank is a hot head. He reacts to situations first, then backtracks. Denise's nursing career, his caveman attitude then he buys balloons, Jeremy he tosses out on his ear, then goes to see him at bootcamp, drives off re: Getti's kiss news, then agrees to go to counselling. It is amazing he has survived combat if he goes charging in before he has fully analysed the situation and hasn't got a clue as to the consequences. Frank is out of his element communication-wise and only knows how to take charge even if he has not fully grasped the situation. TS's take on flexibility is hilarious it is more of he being backed into a corner with little options but to accept what is happening or bail. I can't wait to see how this all plays out. I read how appreciative he is of his wife and how he interacts with his children and others. He seems to be a kind individual. He is doing a great job playing an insufferable major though. I really enjoyed last night's episode. I love when the couples have their happy tender moments while I know Dennis and Frank will not be easily resolve.

Where have you been buddy????!!!! CB, as many of us feel, has been so underated with respect to her acting range. One can only do so much with the material one is dealt and what converted me into a CB fan was the depth she always brought to a role. She literally made you care about her character's plight. CB has such potential, some sensed it from day one, others felt she evolved throughout her JAG experience. Television is entertainment and many shows do just that, and once the episode is over it is basically forgotten. For me CB's portrayals always left an impression and I'd remember a look, a gesture long after the episode had ended. Why this writer is so surprised is beyond me!!

- I think it was a pretty good interview. In truth, if he was all that inflexible and as hardass as we would like to think, she never would have gotten a job, ridden the motorcycle. Everything would have stayed status quo. I think he did give her the space or whatever to do what she wanted. I think he tried to rein in the "sowing of the oats" when he found out about the motorcycle. If you look at Claudia Joy and Michael, he can be just as hardline about things, but she has learned how to communicate her point. I think that's truly all Denise had to learn how to do.   - I disagree that it has to be all Denise...The difference with Michael & CJ is the fact that Michael VALUES & RESPECTS CJ, he wants her opinion, he seeks her out to ask her advice. Denise did not set out looking for an affair. When circumstances presented themselves she went for it. IMO Denise could eventually get Frank to do just about anything if she gave him the time to adjust because he truly loves her.     - He was receptive to the sex part...he hasn't been to anything else....he hates the fact that Denise is working (I'm sure he'll be thrilled that she got fired), & again he fought her on everything else. He still belittles her (remember Jeremy's drug arrest? Frank treated Denise like a child, like she couldn't handle getting Jeremy a lawyer, & then he belittled her for believing in Jeremy's innocence), & I think if Frank would've stopped fighting Denise, stopped demanding that she quit, stopped telling her he's "let" her do things things would've gone down a different path. Denise has to take responsibility for sure, but Frank needs to realize he's part of the problem, its very easy for him to conveniently blame everything on Denise. So he can be holier-than-know, which is why I so want Frank to get a major comeuppance. Actually at this point, I'd like him gone from the show. Bring in someone new for Catherine LOL! - I've never been a fan of Franks and I never will. In this article it's obvious he's trying to make excuses for Frank and maybe get fans to feel sorry for him. - I was never really a fan of either's, but it is still sad & my condolences go out to both families. I actually watched Farrah's documentary, which was incredibly well done & incredibly poignant. I'm sorry that her death is being pushed aside while all the focus is on MJ's. MJ was an incredible talent, & incredible entertainer, but I just can't overlook his odd behaviour (you know what I'm talking about). He was IMHO an incredibly tortured soul, & I think cause we knew what Farrah was battling we expected her death, but MJ's was so unexpected, hence it being the talk of the media 24/7.
