Subject: Unable to pass up the ruby-eyed statue
In reply to: Ravin and co. 's message, "Group B is on the move as well" on 10:20:31 03/20/02 Wed

By the time Jade finished checking the desk for traps, Ravin felt the rest of his lethargy disappear. He noted the disappointed look on Isobel's face when she found nothing of interest in the drawers she had searched through. Jade had better luck. The woman discovered two large blue gems that glowed with an inner light. Since they appeared magical in nature Ravin really didn't want to have anything to do with them. He'd take a couple of large uncut diamonds over magic stones anytime unless he was absolutely sure he understood what kind of magic the stones possessed and had some use for it.

He eased up alongside of Isobel as they followed Erlic down another passageway that led them into what looked like a storage room of sorts. Immediately, his gaze fell upon the statue with the ruby eyes. Such gems were worth a fortune in Bizmar because they were hard to come by. As he was thinking about prying them from the statue, Erlic interrupted his train of thought by pulling out a bag of gems and dividing them with the rest of the group. Ravin grinned when Sheikh Daraba, Ardesmar, and Waleed waved the gifts off. Obviously, the Jann were interested only in finding the Peacock Thorne. More for us, the thief thought happily.

After placing the gems in his pocket, Ravin made his way to the statue. When his magic trap detecting stone showed nothing of interest, he procured a small pick from his pack and pried the rubies free. "We'll have to sell these at some point and divide up the money," he told the others.

He watched Jade saunter over to a glass case to stare at a book that was displayed within it. Erlic joined her a moment later. While they engaged in a whispered conversation, Ravin examined a few of the sculptures. They weren't very interesting and it didn't seem like any of them were worth much. Shrugging, he removed his ale flask from his waist belt and took a drink before moving closer to Isobel.

Ravin slipped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer before placing a gentle kiss above the scratch on her cheek. "You're damn good with that sword of yours," he whispered. "I'm not really all that good at close combat fighting. Maybe you and I can practice sparing with swords sometime." He gave her an innocent grin. "I know that I'd really enjoy sparing with you, Isobel."
