I loved Angelique & that entire mystery of how she turned Barnabus into a vamp... I can still remember last episode in that basement w/bats flying. Sure, sometimes Buffy is juvenile writing especially last year w/Riley crap but I found the early years dealing w/Angel, the curse & slayer vs vamp legends quite riveting. Angel last year was trash IMO but suddenly took on a dark flavor w/the role he has to play in next big Apocalyspe & that burning Dru & Darla alive bit was VERY Angelus like, dark & twisted coolness he had.         I had almost given up on "Buffy" last year with Spike being de-vamped, standing around feeling sorry for himself, and the whole Initiative thing, but I was very pleasantly surprised with this year. Spike's been much much better, and Buffy's got her inner strength back that she seemed to be missing last year. I keep trying to read Anne Rice, but I always get bored with all the background description and give up before it gets around to any action. Just don't have that much patience anymore.
