Subject: That evaluation of my statements on Binns is innacurate, to say the least. I have not in any way "hyped" Binns. In fact my statements here about him have been realistic and even-handed. He is a freshman college basketball player who had some rough going in his first two months as a player. Posters here have treated him like he's a failure already as a player. Is that fair or logical? Of course not. Try to keep this in perspective. This is a young man who is trying to do his best as a player and student at Fordham. I will say it again - Michael Binns has some talent and I believe he will be a solid contributor at Fordham in his four years here.
In reply to: bfg 's message, "Nothing I've written is either mean-spirited or illogical. I'm well aware of who we're talking about although there are probably very few 18-year olds on the team and given that Michael played a year in prep school, he's at least 19, probably 20. I'm sure he's a good kid (DW hasn't brought in a bad kid yet) but I saw 7 of the last 9 games of the season and the guy struggled down the stretch. There's nothing wrong w/ honest an honest observation and there's nothing mean about it. If anything, you do him a disservice by over hyping him and making it nearly impossible to live up to your opinions of his abilities." on Tue March 22, 2005 20:46:45
