Subject: Wittenburg shot the most famous airball in history!
In reply to: JoltinJoe 's message, "NC State was an underrated team that year. Whittenburg was the spark that made that team go, but he missed a significant portion of the season with an injury. I think he played in only 22 games that season, and the Wolfpack lost many of its 10 games without Whittenburg in the lineup. But when he returned, the team got on a roll. They won the ACC championship. One regular poster here commented at that time, after seeing NC State in the ACC tournament, that the Wolfpack would win the NCAAs. BTW, if the college game had a three-point shot back then, Whittenburg would have been even better. He could shoot lights out from 20." on Tue March 29, 2005 07:04:41
