Subject: This story has been re-told 1000 times., It has nothing to do with a 5 year abysmal record. FIRE this guy yesterday, hire a mid major coach like the one at St. Francis in PA. Get rid of him NOW!
In reply to: Air Hej '02 's message, "The story is the one girl was a top recruit. Her father was brought along as an assistant coach. The 2nd girl is practically like family to this top recruit. She is the one who could not academically qualify. Therefore, they all decided to leave and go to Georgetown who would admit them. Her father went back to coaching h.s. I believe they also lost another assistant coach." on Sat March 12, 2005 14:10:47

  • The other part of the story, as I heard it, was that the star recruit was quite upset with the lack of discipline and direction; when she confronted the coach with this observation there was no response. Coupled with her friend's rejection by admissions, all left. No response is quite damming, IMHO. (NT) -- RJA, Sun March 13, 2005 16:47:03
  • The "Star" recruit left before school started in September! She actually was a throw-in in order to get the girl with the poor academics. Admissions rejection caused the father and daughter to leave. Coach Reid had been told by the administrators a number of times that her actions were ethically borderline so she went back to G-town where they were accepted and took the package with her. Whether Lewis should be fired is another matter but the school did the right thing in this case. Winning isn't everything. (NT) -- That's my take on it, Mon March 14, 2005 11:37:07
