• There are no A-10 teams with-in 2 hours of Albany and there isn't a whole heckuva lot to do there. I like the suggestion from below of Atlantic City, as there is other stuff to do there and would be an enticement to go for families (as suggested below). Also, it's not ridiculously far from the Philly schools, GW, and Fordham. I think the way to go would be having the 1st round on Saturday and the quarterfinals on Sunday. You would have to eliminate 1 of the "bye" slots from during the season because the schedule would have to end on Wednesday rather than Saturday, but at least that way you get 2 weekend days worth of games, should get decent crowds for those games, and then you can get the semis and final game on Monday and Tuesday night, and none of the tournament overlaps with the Big East, beacuse let's face it, the Big East is clearly a better draw. Also you can't play the final on Wednesday because ESPN and ESPN2 have 1st round games from the Big East and CUSA, etc... (NT) -- Stout for 3, Sun March 13, 2005 16:14:18

• When I attended the A-10 Tourneys at the Spectrum a lot of fans from Ohio went to Atlantic City during the day and got back to see their team play at night. Where would the tournament be played in AC? The Convention Hall seems too big-they played a football bowl game there once, the Liberty Bowl. • Ramalistic, next year the tournament will again be held in Cincinnati, which, IMO, is one of the most boring cities on the planet. I've been there 3-4 times, once to see a Mets-Reds game and 2 or 3 other times to visit Kings Island, which is closed during winter months. The only Ohio city that I’d take pleasure in spending three days in is Cleveland (one of my favorite cities), which has plenty of attractions (Warehouse District, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Westside Market, Great Lakes Science Center, Pro Football Hall of Fame in nearby Canton, etc.). • I can't see the A-10 in Atlantic City. Although I believe betting on college sports is not allowed in NJ, holding a league championship in a gambling venue is not something I see the A-10 member colleges embracing with open arms. Bear in mind that colleges are already faced with a poker craze and you would not want to encourage possible gambling by students in attendance, most of whom would not be old enough to enter casinos.   • The vast majority of students would not be allowed in casinos. Since when was poker not a craze on college campuses? It's been played in dorms for 100 years now. I suggest you take a trip to Atlantic City and then let us know what you think. It ain't what it used to be. Many go there for a weekend and don't even think about gambling.     • Have to disagree with you on this one, Rambacker. While poker has long been a pasttime for college kids, ElJefe is right, interest in games like Texas Hold'em are at an all-time high. Having the tourney in a gambling mecca would be a PR black eye for the A-10. Yes, many tourists go to AC and never gamble - in the summer. In early March even the boardwalk isn't open.       • I completely agree, '83. The A-10 in AC sends the wrong message. So far, Cincy has failed and unless things are much better next year, they should be dropped from the rotation.         • The reason I brought up AC is that my friend who just spent a weekend there said the new indoor "family-friendly" venues are huge and were worth the trip for he, his wife and kids without even considering gambling. Although I must say, I'd love to see the tournament played permanently at the Palestra. The A-10 Tourney should use the BE model and pick an ideal location and stay there to build continuity.
