Subject: The arena was pretty nice and well suited for the tournament so that wasn't the problem. Also, the town was talking about the tournament and there was a lot of local newspaper coverage. But as has been said the problem is that many teams are located near Cincinnati. Most of the Fordham games were filled with Dayton fans or Xavier fans. They were nice to us, but didn't offer much in the way of cheering. But unlike Philiadelphia it is not an A-10 town per se, a lot of Cincinnati fans.

  • Cincinnati is a college basketball town, I can assure you of that. It is also not one of the "most boring cities on the planet" if you know where to go. (Admittadly, though, it's not Philly or Atlantic City.) The long and short is that the ticket prices were utterly ridiculous. If the costs were, say $15-20 for upper seats, for both sessions, I have trouble imagining the average Cincinnatian not buying walk-ups. It really is a city that is all about college basketball and would turn out for the tournament if they weren't getting robbed by the ticket prices. (NT) -- RamRunner12, Sun March 13, 2005 22:40:43
