Subject: Here's the point and it's really quite simple. You look at what teams/programs are doing that are more successful than you and you learn from it. I know the staff rules, but others seem to stretch them. Duke had 6 guys with coats, ties and clip boards sitting on the bench today. Somehow they all contribute - be it scouting reviews, creating video packages, assisting in practice, charting in-game tendencies, screening mail, answering the phone, whatever Coach K wants them to do. It's all about finding ways to compete at a higher level.
In reply to: Cincy Ram 's message, "Coaches: At the GW game Thursday a UK friend of mine asked "Where are all the Fordham coaches ?" Since then I've actua;;y paid attention to the 5-6-7 men "committees" on most benches. The ACC, the Big Ten, the MAC - right now I'm watching the 6 UTEP coaches at work . Just another thing to think about as the program tries to become consistently competitive." on Sat March 12, 2005 21:46:52
