• Rambacker, in answer to your question, I don't see Jimmy O as any more than a backup and would be surprised if DW offered. He's a former student of mine and a nice kid, but didn't play much for his HS team until senior year, as he was behind Tyler Relph (NYS player of the year, now waiting out a year as a transfer to Bonnies) and Jack Leasure (who averaged 14.5 as a freshman this year at Coastal Carolina). BTW my sources tell me that Tyler Relph has to hit the books to remain eligible for SBU next year; if he doesn't that would be a real blow to Solomon's rebuilding efforts. I think Lowe will end up at a prep school. Would like us to get Appleton or Ross. White is an OK player, but so far only has offers from Rider and Canisius, so you might question his A-10 credentials. We need a PG who can also score.     • A high school player must qualify using the NCAA eligibility criteria, which combines SAT/ACT scores against high school GPA and has become more stringent in the last decade. If a player does not qualify under that criteria, the only way the player can otherwise qualify is to sit out a year as a Prop 48 and have 4 years of eligibility from then on.   • I only saw 1/2 game of Bethel... during CHSAA playoffs.. He looks and is physically strong for 6'5 ... he also played with good tenacity while his team was being handle quite easily by CTK HS... the thing I took away was he needs to develop a J and a midrange game... He is not big tall enough to be a 4 in the A-10.... doesnt look smooth to be a 3... If I were DW i would tell him to take hundreds of mid range J's and work on a handle this summer..     • The only game I saw him play he hit a bunch of outside shots, bankers and putbacks. He's a tweener, which may be why we got him, but as DW said about him when asked what position he'll play at Fordham: "the 3, the 4, the 10 or 11 or 100 - this guy is a basketball player.   • Yes, Bethel will take some attention away from Dunston. He bangs very well for his size, can rebound and score underneath and has an improved jump shot to 18'. He will demand some attention, and we can expect Sebastion Greene to hit more outside shots plus Evertson can light it up. The team will look quite different next season. We'll have more weapons. • Justin Cage of Xavier is only 6'6 yet 7th in conference in offensive rebounds. We all can agree he is a banger that any team would love to have, so I don't think that the fact Bethel is just 6'5 negates the fact that a ballhawk is a ballhawk. I haven't seen him play but if he's aggresive enough, 6'5 can get it done in the A-10.
